One of the most successful race cars to compete in IMSA? The Nissan 300ZX Turbo GTO.
In addition to securing both the Manufacturer’s and Driver’s championships in 1992 and 1994, the 300ZX also placed first in class in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and first overall in the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1994.
This particular example, chassis no. 002, is noted to have racked up four race wins and over 15 podium finishes with John Morton, Jeremy Dale, and Steve Millen behind the wheel.
An easy way to tell this 300ZX from the others? 002 is the only one fitted with a passenger seat.
Powering the Nissan racer is a twin-turbo V6 backed by a five-speed gearbox and a quick-change rear housing.
Find this 1989 Nissan 300ZX Turbo IMSA GTO for auction from Gooding & Company with an estimated value of $400,000-$600,000.
