My son and I loved this Challenge entrant. Is there a build thread anywhere for it? Can someone share the builder's name with me as well? We chatted quite a bit but I failed to get his name. :(

That car was super clean and well executed. Challengers Choice was well deserved. I have a soft spot for P1 Volvos with three pedals and a turbo.
Thanks. I'd love to talk with them more about their build. It was super cool. The interior paint looked especially stunning. Hard to believe it was rattle can!
I didn't take a lot of pics but I was sure to get a picture of the dashboard of the Volvo. It was streamline perfection.
I had a fun conversation with Matt about his suspension and launches.
I noticed his launches in the drags were particularly unlike a FWD launch. Dead straight, no wheel slip, no setting on its haunches and losing traction up front. Just perfectly clean shots out of the hole. Launched better and more consistently than any other car.
I asked him what he did to the suspension to accomplish that. He said blown shocks up front, and sitting on the bump stops in the rear!
Beautiful car!!
When it pulled up to the drag race I said, "who would buy an S70?" When it finished the first run I said, "I need to check that thing out."

Brian here, thanks so much for the love! Unfortunately there is not much of a documented build thread on this car, but a ton of photos/receipts were collected and given to GRM. This was a very dysfunctional part time build over almost a 3 year period! Car was shelved more then once, stored outdoors last winter, and generally pushed around for three years. But of course got a last minute 2 week thrashing before the challenge. There is a small thread on a Facebook group called Ohio Volvo Hooligans. This was a personal obsession with Volvo and BTCC and I wanted to make a cool livery and have as much fun as possible at the Challenge and it worked.

Thanks so much and thanks to all our competitors who judged us accordingly, we were extremely excited!

This was what I wanted... confusion. The build was to look like a road race replica but then was to bust out some shocking time slips( for a Volvo)

This is correct ha! Thanks!
Awesome car, congrats on best auction award! You beat the 2nd-place copart car (me) by a slim margin of 28 positions!

Thanks for checking in! I have a Volvo question for you. Unfortunately Yahoo email doesn’t play well with PMs here. Would you be able to email me at tuckerryals at that domain? I would appreciate it!
