so as mentioned in the Hazmat thread I have a standing offer to trade Hazmat for a 94 integra GSR.
would this mean since I'm into hazmat for $1800 that I would then be transferring that value to the Integra? or is this fully outside the rules... and an illegal challenge transaction that takes the car out of eligibility?

I think you get it. You have your budget for hazmat. You trade hazmat for something else. Budget stays, car swaps.
Unless you benefit more from a FMV on the gsr, then you could look at that (ie "sell" the hazmat for cash and use cash to buy the gsr). That would "reset" your budget back to the starting point of just one line item of the gsr.
I don't know how nice the gsr is, but if you're considering the trade it's probably nicer than $1800 FMV.
In reply to Robbie :
it's absolutely worth more than $1800..
either way (trade or FMV), you start with a single line item "1994 GSR, $______"

I dunno about that. If you already used recoup the trade shouldn't be a loophole to reset recoup to $0.

i would agree with that. I havent moved an inch on the car either way.
let's say Hazmat needed a clutch, which spacecadet replaced and included in the budget.
then he trades for a car with an automatic.
new car has a line item for clutch?
Hazmat:$xxxx challenge budget with xxx done, xxx reciup.
Traded hazmat for gsr. Budget stays the same. Recoup stays the same. Thats the way i read the rules.
Stampie?

OK, i get that.
Robbie, if that's what you meant, I apologize for misunderstanding.
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael :
That's how I'd do it.
Sounds right on the trade side of things.
Out of curiosity: Knowing nothing about this PARTICULAR GSR, do you think it’ll be a better challenge car?
