Just thought of another pet peeve of mine. If I walk into an "Irish" pub and ask for an half and half do not ask me if Bass is ok instead of Harp. That's deserving of a biaatch slap.

New Brembos, zero budget hit, not a dick. It's not even a loophole, it is an expressedly legal move.
As much as i think that opens up a lot of opportunities to be a dick, I'm with Angry, rules are rules, Brembos, no budget hit, not a dick (about the brakes anyway...lol!)
And Coors Light is second to Corona with a lime, you guys probably dont like sugar in your coffee either.

That is a properly awesome beer !!!
This is very relevant to my 951!!! This will actually be the difference between the car being able to come to a challenge or not. I have not found the brakes for my car in the box's that came with it yet. My car uses the big brembo brakes as it is an 89 M030 car and procuring replacements (even used) are very expensive and would all but use up my budget for the car.

I would err on the side of safety. I have no problem with better brakes if they fall inside the rules.
Edit -- Reading the next post and thinking about it, yeah core values might be the way to go. I would still use the best brakes I could but the core costs is the good guy vibe.
Also your gonna have to cough up core costs anyway with no brakes on it.
For my 951 you can not get these new/rebuilt that I can find. Used is the only option that I am seeing for calipers. So no core fee?

If the brembo brakes are stock to your car then you can put them on without a Challenge budget hit just a personal budget hit.
They are. However could I put a set of different brakes on it. I have a set of Willwoods that M030 gave me that won't cost me anything that I think bolt on and at the moment are cheeper to purchase used than the OE Brembo calipers that came with the car. Used Brembos are $700-$1k. The willwoods new are about that much.

That was my problem. I would rather "downgrade" the brakes but rules state OEM to model and trim so that means I'll put on different brakes at cost to budget. Lucky for me that means like $30 at junkyard holiday sale. Sounds like you're berked. Maybe FMV those willwoods?
I am ok for the challenge as the most expensive brake option is not hitting the challenge budget but dang that is a lot of $$$. And I could spend zero and actually have the same result with the willwoods. It maybe even a down grade actually but if I have to put fmv on them for the challenge then it does not make sense and I will get the OE Brembo big brakes for it.

Sometimes the rules made to cover 99.9% of the cases don't make sense for the leftover 00.1%. Just tell everyone that you're part of the special 00.1%.
