I am looking for a Mariner Blue hardtop for my Miata. Prefer in VA or sounding area. I have a mint BRG hardtop that I can trade also.

Please mess with your own posting, not mine. Mods please delete that.

Mazda didn't make any blue hardtops?
You'd have to ask a soul more knowledgeable in Miatae than myself (paging Keith) but I do know that at first they only made them in red. I dunno after that what colors they came in. I think most people take whatever hardtop they can get and paint it to match.
I've owned two Mariner blue hardtops. I still have one of them (on my Mariner blue car--not for sale).
When I was looking for my first hard top many years ago, Mariner blue was fairly easy to find. Much easier than Montego blue (I've got one of those, too; also not for sale.)
I was mostly just being silly, but I've seen very few, and none that weren't another color underneath. I'm sure Keith could confirm or disconfirm their existence.
By all means, post the wanted ads here, craigslist, and miata.net. But the chances are you will be looking for a long time. It'd more than likely be much easier to get it painted.
Good luck with your search.
We have both a Mariner blue hardtop and a BRG top (southern Maryland).
I don't know if the wife is willing to give up her blue roof to wind up with what would end up as a near twin of my car. But I can ask. No guarantees!
They definitely exist, but since Mariner Blue was only sold for four years and the hardtops only came in red for one of those years, they're a bit uncommon. A pretty high percentage of Miata hardtops have been repainted over the years.
Production numbers by color:

More rare would be a early silver hardtop.
Actually, that's not true. There are fewer silver cars because production of those started later - but they started before the hardtops showed up in non-red colors. For the years it was available, it was more popular than Mariner Blue. 1991-93 production was 6811 for the blue and 7277 for the silver. But I can't think of the last time I saw a silver hardtop...
Now, a Laser Blue car with a matching hardtop would be both really attractive and very unusual. They only made 151 cars in that color. I don't know if any of them had hardtops.

Yes, but the paint on the top is in great shape so I would really hate to paint over it at this point.
Do you have a BRG Miata, though? Or are you thinking trade or sell afterwards for no additional investment?

That Laser Blue is AWESOME. I now want to paint my Celica that color.
If you want to see it in person, check out Proteges and Protege5s. It was a pretty popular color there.
Elvis is Laser Blue, but it's a Lotus color (colour, I suppose) and not the same as the Mazda one. Much more metallic as Lotus colors tend to be.
And by the way, I'm not the sort of guy who can rattle off Miata production numbers from memory. I took all those details from the link provided earlier
As a slight thread hijack, is the added lower sill on this orange car (vs. the silver car also linked below) part of an equipment package?

I do not have a BRG Miata. Best/easiest case would be to trade for the blue. If not, I'll keep it until I find one to purchase (it looks real special on the blue car...), at that point it will be for sale for whatever I can buy a blue top for.
