Guys I'm looking for a good running Ford 351W somewhere within a reasonably short distance from Downingtown, PA. Plain-Jane stock unmolested 2bbl is perfect, as would a later truck engine that isn't beat to death.
Thanks, Rob

The late 5.8's in trucks were the best as they came with roller cams and FI engines tend to have less cylinder wear then a carbs.

Yea we installed one of them in a '69 Mustang with a 4bbl intake and Pertronix distributor. It ran great, and the inside of the engine looked new when we opened it up. The Fox body Mustang guys are looking for the roller cam 351's as well so the good ones around here have been picked.

Preferably within an hour from the shop. As much fun as it would be, I don't have the time for a road trip. It's not for a personal project. Customer's Torino eviscerated its 351W on the turnpike. Rod went through the middle of the block. We found two chunks of cam in the oil pan, along with a bunch of shrapnel that used to be his block.
He's a good guy and wasn't planning or budgeting for an engine build. It's a clean original car that has sentimental value to him. He lost his twin brother two years ago to cancer. He has a lot of memories going to get the car with him and all that. He'd love to do a full build, but can't right now. We're trying to find a tight budget solution for him.
