So far I was able to pick up almost correct size wheels for it . 17 inch AMG wheels with 325 rear and 275 front tires .

Now I focused on fitting m119 merc engine in to getrag tranny . Adapter is done . 6061 3/4 inch plate . Clutch is almost done .

Looking great! I just got my clutch and flywheel the other day and a bellhousing for the trans I am using. I'll be working on the trans adaptor next.

Is your flywheel nestled inside the original flex plate? Nice, just like mine will be. Mine will just have a little more space though.

I actually have some time off this weekend, I can make some measurements for cutting the subframe if you want. There is A LOT of material that need to be removed.

Dang! I didn't even notice the sweet 242 turbo in your avatar! I've got an 88 245 that's been turboed and also an 85 244ti ex police car.

I got to ask, will there be a build thread for the 242 as well?

That 242 is pretty much my dream. I'm so taken with the turbo brick for reasons I'm unable to fathom. Oh, yeah, and the rest of this is dreamy as well.

Correct. Those are the Borbet Type A. AMG wheels from that time are basically the Ronal R9.

I was just about to compliment him on the fact that I've never seen so many photos detailing the creation of an adapter plate before. Really great! It's something I want to do someday, so I'm bookmarking this thread for inspiration. I'd love more info on the subject too!

I really like how you made the template for the adapter. I hope to soon see some videos of it driving.

I bought set of factory w108 pedals , Clutch and brake . Rockauto had master cyl for it. On closeout so it was like $25 shipped to me. Everybody else $125 . That's why rockauto rocks!!!

Re pinned the fly wheel , Dropped it off to falcon clutch for re balancing , stiffening and kevlar plate beeing made Output shaft on 6 speed getrag is much bigger then 5 speed setup .

Sold my project, just got over the trauma and am now concentrating on a GNCC XC quad project.

Used to have a '74 /8 220 as a dd in the late 80's-early 90's and wound up junking it. Needed valve job because unleaded and it was returning to its base elements at an accelerated rate. 20 year old working musician does not have restore/refurbish on his mind.

After reading about AMG's yellow #38 and the Red Pig years later I've had dirty thoughts of taking a W114/W115, swapping in an M110 and Euro stick from a 280E W123, add a little inspiration from the Red Pig and Rally X'ing it.

I LOVE THIS BUILD!

I really want to see how this thing progresses. Very cool.
