Life is full of surprises. I got an amazing job offer in Atlanta to run a fraud department at a bigger credit Union and I decided to take it. The Mondial and the CBX are being shipped down and the rest is headed down the Alcan with in my truck tomorrow morning. Alaska was a good time and I wouldn't have left if not for a big opportunity. In my field, the pond was too small for me at this point and I just couldn't grow. Back to friends, family, Road Atlanta, fish and grits and all that pimp sh....

Then another round for the CBX.
If I get my stuff together and fix a couple leaking oil lines, it's wild to think I may be able to bring this to the Mitty this year.

In Holly Springs/Canton for now and the new house will be in East Atlanta/Decatur shortly. Currently commuting to Lawrenceville which is hell even on back roads.
The plan is a deep wash on Sunday and then double check all the mechanicals. The CBX is on a crate stuck in California because of their rain/snow crap.
Its still filthy so I figured I should drive it in the rain anyway. It was stumbling and basically was on fumes pulling in to the gas station but fresh fuel and a natural wash was good for it.
I was having a new low rpm misfire below 4k only so I decided to check my spark plug wire extenders which are known to crack with age.
All looked new but one was suspect with what looked like a hairline crack.
The throttle body was filthy so I needed to clean it up. Once EGR is gone it should stay cleaner for longer I hope.
Swapped the plugs out for new ones. These didn't look horrible but are old and look a little lean. So far the new plugs are working fine but we will see if the miss comes back in time. Oddly my weeping oil cooler lines haven't dripped on the ground after a run around town so perhaps I'll touch them after the Mitty.
As mentioned last year, I was on the hunt for the right 16 inch wheels to ditch the 390mm wheel/tire setup. I put 3 piece wheels on everything so when I found some period J55C Gottis in 16x8 and 9.5 with 5x108 bolt pattern, I pulled the trigger. These came off a 308 so the offset is a little more aggressive but with the planned coilovers I'll be able to add camber and hopefully stuff them in. If that doesn't work, I can still buy individual pieces from Gotti and build them to the spec I need. I won't be running the 255 size in the rear and I'll probably get 225s on all 4.

Those Gottis are going to be just right. I had a set of replicas, probably Eagle or American Racing or one of those ubiquitous brands of the 1980s, on my AW11 years ago. The size was an unimpressive 14x6 and the offset was all wrong, but from certain angles (probably not this angle), they still looked good.

Its not going to be a stance car but I think lowered with a little camber and something like a 225/45/16 with a modern sidewall would set this car off. It's never going to be pushed hard or setup for maximum handling so it's just fun to play with on the street. My $0.02.
Some Mitty weekend prep included getting a camber shim set from Ricambi. Yay $75 for a set of washers with a slit cut in the side.
Next up is getting some airflow in the car. The A/C is weak and the windows stopped working a few months ago. My buddy Kyle helped me diagnose it.
Bypassing the cars power with an 18v Milwaukee battery and the motor works.
The culprit was the bigger gauge power wire that a previous owner sent directly to the window relays was broken. Ferrari power windows of this era are notoriously slow and poorly grounded so the PO ran power from the battery through its own separate relays and it was plugged into the aftermarket amp for the stereo so around the time I messed with the stereo it must have stopped. I didn't put those two things together since I wasn't thinking about windows when touching the stereo.
Lots of fiddling, new relays and fuses, and cleaning up this wiring was completed but I have windows again.
Great job figuring it out. Electric can be a bear.

Last year, I sold my 240z right after the event and was headed to CA to buy this car. I shipped it to AK then back down to GA and it's been a whirlwind of a year but I made it back. I've been doing the Mitty forever and I always tell people the infield experience is just as much fun as the racing. I'm so glad to be around my car related hobbies/events more than a week or two a year.
