So in my recent bartering history I traded a lifted 01 z71 zombie killer suburban for a lifted 96 z71 gmc
sierra , that I then traded for this mustang , it was a terrible mistake ...
It's an 89 mustang hatch , 5spd , 331ci stroker , with a 70 trim turbo , ported "gt40" explorer intake , and ported e7 heads ,arp hardware throughout ,etc.
25 mins into my drive home it blew a headgasket .... So yeah , I'm having to re-engineer some or most of the way the car is set up way before I thought I would have to . I'm going to add pics lager since I'm on my phone atm .This is my first mustang , my first stroker car and my first turbo v8 car .... So far not too fun unfortunately bout hooe to get it together soon .

Curious what transmission is in this thing. The T-5 from factory probably won't like this sort of power...
looking forward to the pictures
It has a fresh bw t5 , I'm not sure how long it'll last ...
Depends on which of the 4849 T5s it has.

In reply to N Sperlo:
I think the maximum rated torque capacity of any of the T-5's is 330lb/ft of torque. This thing should do much more than that, right? I would think the magic 500 should be possible.
Can't wait to see the pics...
Put a shift kit with the adjustable bolts on it fast, overshifting into 3rd is the major cause of T5 failure.
Is it Challenge legal?
Mine just before $2011
Then at $2013
How do you make an intake out of electrical tape?

First you melt the old one with the turbo kit.
Yeah it seems like the guy I bought it from trailered it to the drag strip and that's it . Hoping that headgaskets is all it needs for me to drive it for a while , I don't think it's within budget , lol . I'm hoping to clean it up/refine it and make it reliable and fun, I hate like 90% of it as is except the interior . I hate the wheels , exterior , and that it's a hatch but I'll make the best if it .
Do you know if thats o on3 turbo kit? Ive never seen anyone route the hot side intercooler piping that way. Or the electrical tap insulated piping...
I have no clue , honestly I feel ashamed to be so uneducated about the car still , I'm digging deeper to find out everything I can from the po , he put it all together ....and I live in sc now so it's kind of a G.O.B. Build right now

Beyond that the inter-cooler looks like it is lower then anything on the suspension.
I am astonished that it ran 1/4 mile with that intake.

LX hatch with a GT front bumper/etc. Which is slightly broken. Plus everything mentioned so far.
There's a lot of challenges here. What the deuce is that pack of LED's on a plate doing in the console where the handbrake handle drops into?
What are your hopes for this car? Fast street thing? 1/4 mile track terror? Something else?
It's a wideband from like 1982 , I plan to make it a streetcar , hopefully something fun to drive
got a little bit of work done today, dug into in a bit and after all the facepalms from me and my co-workers , I traded the wheels and wing and got cash on top to start the fix budget ....

Seems like you're off to a good start with the rescue! I dig the ride height err... stance... nope, ride height.
I love that is has a 70mm throttlebody and what looks to be the o.e. 55mm mass air meter! Then again, I've done some dumb E36 M3 so who am I to judge? lol
Wow, some of that workmaship looks... shady. The interior is in awesome shape except for the crappy gauge install, though.
Mmmmm, turbo V8.
