This thread reminds me of car forums of 2003.

Yeah and the dogpile on a guy for sport is gross.

In our defense, we gave him plenty of chances to come clean and he just kept digging the hole harder. And is it really a dog pile if we actually have Boxsters?

Also, only on GRM will a catfisher get dunked on by a guy who's actually homebuilding a V12 swap for his actual Ferrari, a guy that literally wrote the book on LS swapping (Miatas), and a guy that sold his like seventh Viper to build a 550 Spyder replica all in the same thread.

You've been a member here for a long time.

Here's a bit of advice, it's"internet advice" so take it for what you will:

GRM is super cool with people posting about their dreams and plans.  Some plans and dreams come true, others don't.

But GRM (& life in general) is VERY harsh on dishonesty.

Your original post on this thread included a pic of a car that's not yours, yet you didn't disclose that until I called you on it

Just be real.  Carry on.

I'll echo this again for the OP, just in case he missed it the first time

This is kind for fun,  but I feel somehow  as for the OP.

So could everyone please redirect your attention to my new build thread.  I just found a $4000 plate of unobtanium that I will build a work bench out of and need ideas.

I'm somewhere on the first couple pages, thought it was 03 or so. Back when TCL was my hourly haunt instead of here.

I'm just disappointed because I was kinda hoping to get a second quality Countach body to throw on a rough Boxter and hoon the crap out of.  Hell... I'd be tempted to reorganize my life and start rally-cross.

I'm new here, and likely ignorant of the applicable rules, but it really surprises me that the forum admins have allowed this thread to remain open and visible. Not only do we have a what appears to be a troll post, but the OP also has committed Identity Theft by pretending to be the guy in that screenshot. That is possibly a federal offense (18 U.S.C. § 1028) and when coupled with the fact it happened online, it also would be Computer Fraud (18 U.S.C. § 1030). Furthermore, if he is claiming that this car is for sale, that would be attempted Wire Fraud (18 U.S.C. § 1343), and this is all on top of the pending lawsuit from Lamborghini regarding the legitimacy of the actual car!

My advice is to seek legal counsel...

surprise

Come on Ian, we know you can do this. Think of the models you can date once you have completed your fake Lambo running on an inexpensive (but fragile due to the IMS bearing) Boxster. Time to live life man!

I declare this thread to now be about getting Ian to buy a Countach kit of some sort.

Ian, go to this thread and get this thing shipped up to my shop:

I'll let you know when it gets here, you can look it over and tell me what you want done with it, and I'll make it happen- it'll be like one of those stupid TV build shows!

I was thinking about how a countach-bodied Boxter's proportions would look....   would they look like ones based on fieros that just look like a 90% version.

I was surprised that the countach wheelbase is 96.4" and the Boxter is 97.4"

track is surprisingly close:

countach:  60.5/63.2 f/r

Boxter:  60.4/60.6

i guess they would make a better starting point than I had thought.

Previously mentioned was using the boxster transmission in other rear-mid builds.  They're not the strongest but are apparently one of/the strongest for anywhere near their price.

they were used on some of the mid-engine LS powered cars we had on Ford v Ferrari.   I was educated about the transaxle when I munched one after rehearsing a sequence that needed the car to drift a bit.   I had no idea!  Needless to say we had to come up with a different method to get the shot

Great post! Actually the 2004 Boxster was 95.1" and had to be stretched a tad. The gearbox is easily swapped out for the G50.
