The simplicity of these cars is appealing to me as a "learn how to do stuff that is too scary or complicated on a modern car with all its systems" type of level.
Depending on how long that paint and associated supplies have been hanging around, the volatile components might have evaporated and it might be useless.
Fun project

That may be one of the few car repair manuals where that makes sense.

That is a reason as to why I picked it. Simple. I figured for my sons first project that would help.

When you shake them you can hear liquid moving around, but they are all pretty crusty. I'm not planning to use any of them.

It is. The PO did a pretty good job. There are couple tiny spots that my OCD rust freak self will still cut out and patch. But nothing major.
Really cool, I'll be watching this with interest. I hope to do something similar with my son someday, but he's 5 right now, so who knows what kids will be into in 10 years, he may hate all cars.

Thanks man. Mine is 11.5 and almost as obsessed with cars as we ,on this forum, are.
Although I've probably made it worse because when the tooth fairy comes at our house she doesn't bring candy, gum, or money. She brings Hotwheels cars. That may have had something to do with it.

Hopefully he won't read the thread where Crocs were declared the official GRM welding shoe!
sorry I got locked out of my account. Blue Goose is still coming along. Pan has been primed and ready for paint. Decided to mess with the wheels a little and see what I can do. Not bad for a few minutes with steel wool. And I started working on the brakes. It's been a loooong time since I messed with drum brakes. I also spent some money after getting the project and ordered all new brake parts front and rear, new shocks front and rear, and new ball joints and tie rod ends. But... I'm still waiting on my parts.
and for those that don't like reading, some pics...
