Okay I decided to do what most everybody on this forum told me not to do. This the beginning of my build of a 03 Mustang GT, 5 sp car into a competive car. Wish me luck and encouragement or snicker and laugh your choice.

A little help though, how do you post pictures here?

There are a row of icons above the smileys; B, I, a couple of chain links, a quote bubble, a camera, and a question mark within a circle.

Click on the camera and it will prompt you to past the image url. Past it in and hit "okay" then it should appear. I usually hotlink my pics from facebook.

Alternatively, I host on photobucket and use the link it provides.

Looking forward to this, as one of these may wind up in my life sometime soon.

I read your old thread, did you trade in your V6 auto for a GT 5 speed? It seems like it.

No I still have the V6. I just bought something that should be a tad more fun. Already have a few parts ordered. But the car already came ready to run in STU. As I start prepping her for this summer I'll create account to post pictures.

Quick run down of already installed parts.

K&N CAI

Eibach front & rear sway bars

A 2 point strut brace

Rear shock brace

Pro 5.0 short shifter

That seems like an okay starting place. I will try not to take over your build thread, but, what tires are on it now? How many races have you done so far?

Some inspiration for your build (made me miss my blue LSC):

Mr_Clutch42 I'm not worried about you hijacking my thread. You asking question or anybody for that matter helps me process things once in awhile. As you noticed in my post about the V6 I read and consider everything.

As for your question it has the factory 5 spoke GT wheels on it with a Hankook allseason tire mounted. I'm going to run AMR 18x10 wheels with Hankook RS3 275/35/18 tires in competion. May wind up running a spacer in the front and if I do I'll probably run one in the back also to keep every thing proportioned in looks. IE; wheel & tire set back from the wheel wells.

Any thoughts are welcomed, would prefer good thoughts and not negitive rudeness though from people. After all it is my car and they can have theirs. :)

I know nothing about the CAM-C rules, but the first thing I'd work on with any pre-S197 Mustang is chassis stiffening, preferably welded, full-length sub frame connectors.

From what I read on the Foxes (most of which should apply to the New Edge, it's still a Fox chassis), the rear shock brace is worthless. You'll want a front strut tower brace that attaches to the firewall and strut towers, not just across the strut tops. A 4 point K-Member brace is another good starting point.

I'd try to piece together a MM, Griggs, or Kenny Brown setup from CL or forums. Used Mustang parts are pretty cheap these days.

Thanks, for the input. It's going to get a full on competition set up from Maxium Motorsports. The bits a pcs on the car are from it's former owner. I've been playing with Stangs for years, just this is a new foray into SOLO competition. Here is a link to SCCA SOLO CAM rules http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/assets/2015%20CAM%20handout%20b.pdf Check it out you might want to join the fun.

Well I got my 18x10 AMR wheels. Boy do they look good! Plus a few other goodies for the inside, new shifter and clutch pedal extention. Also found a home for it out of the weather. Pictures will follow shortly.

Well did some fitment test for my 18x10 wheels. Here a few pictures. Also discovered that the car actually has a full after market exhaust system with x-pipe and high flow cats. <img src=" photo 20150118_133837_zpsb9adeae9.jpg photo 20150118_134106_zpsed113eab.jpg photo 20150118_134015_zps2d62a624.jpg photo 20150118_133911_zps76f55862.jpg" />

Well not much action right now, but there is some on the horizon! I should have my new tires in and mounted in a week or so. Time to test fit them before some serious suspenion mods. Going to order my suspenion kit from Maxium Motorsports in a few weeks. Need an ambulance on stand by for the heart attack over the bill though! :) I'll post pictures as the work goes.

Thx, check back hopefully next weekend and you will get to see them on the car with rubber. There 18x10s, tough fit in the front for a Mustang.

I think 10" wide wheels are a tough fit for almost every car. I checked the times for the Cam classes during the Solo National Championships, and they were relatively slow, so I think you should attend the National Championship next year if you can.

In reply to Mr_Clutch42:

One of the other long time racers in our group has been running 11" wide wheels for years on a 95 Cobra. He is the one that helped me decide on back spacing and offset.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I've already got motel reservations in Lincoln. I'm also going to try to run in the Speedway Motors CAM Challenge in Grissom, IN in August. Top 2 in each class get an invite to Lincoln for the CAM Invitational Championships held before the Nationals this year.

I've got my parts list ironed out for the suspenion and hopefully will being ordering in a few weeks. Then I'm going to take a weeks vacation to do the full install at one time. Hopefully when it rolls out of the shop I'll have a ready to run car.

Wheel here is some updates and pictures for my thread. I had the tires mounted on the wheels pictured earlier. Then test fitted them on the car. Didn't hear any rubbing for the short test drive I took it on. I would have to say myself it begs to be lowered some with the huge gap on the fenders with this combo. Also installed a new Tri-Axe shifter handle.

Did you order the "maximum grip box"?

No I didn't order one of the prechosen boxes. With the mods and my goals for the car to run SCCA Solo CAM-C class I had very specific needs and wants. I created a list and with the help of Maxium's sales staff I will create a custom box. That order happens in a week or so.

Any chance you'd be willing to give a run down of the parts you're ordering?

Hell I don't mind giving you a run down of parts, but keep in mind this going to be a basicaly dedicated SOLO car with very little street driving.

Here is a quick run down, description and part #

Maxium Motorsports Sport Series Damper Package, MAX-1

H&R Super Race Springs, spring rate 750-866 lb/in, 51650.99-frnt x2

MM Torque-arm spring set, spring rate 415-515 lb/in, 43TA7

Caster Camber Plates, MMCC9994

Rear Grip Package with extreme-duty control arms, MMRG-5

MM Full Lenght Subframe Connectors, powdercoated, MMFL-5PC

plus little items like spring isolaters, front control arm bushings, steering rack bushings, upper control arm bushings on rear axle.

That pretty much covers the big pieces and there part numbers. A few items that you may think I missed ordering is because I already have them or don't want them. The closest package is the 02-04 hard top package RTB-8, but as I said I tailored it to my needs with the higher end strut & shock package and way stiffer springs then you would want if you planned on driving it everyday.
