DEVIN.....er weird french car??
Bingo! The Devin is what I was thinking of. It's amazingly weird and cool. I want to help Patrick get it driving someday just so many many people can see it.
Panhard is the French automaker. Devin is the American dude that build race cars. Panhard Devin is the race car the American dude built with French car donor.

We've both seen the car. There were French people involved in that somewhere. It's weird and cool. And in my defense my brain was so overloaded seeing all of Patrick's cool stuff that I can't quite remember it all. The point stands that the car in question is absolutely weird enough for the above anouncement, but so is the Wartburg. That says something about Patrick as a person.
In reply to mazdeuce - Seth :
So we all agree that Patrick is weird.

No argument here

Yes, but not in the "keeps fingernails in a jar" way. Thank goodness.
Visited Colin's studebaker this morning and was given a doodlebug
I want the vintage bike in the background...
Colin's studebaker looks cherry! Whats the story on it?
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael (Forum Supporter) :
Background bike is a 1948 harley hummer that i tried for years to get, but one of their friends had a bike appraiser come and tell her it's a wall hanger and therefore his son bought it because she knew I wanted to restore it and she thinks it's too far gone. He's yet to pick it up, obviously, after 2 years.
colin's car is from the same auction as the panhard sedan donor car for the Devin. We were at a party and i was watching the auction and he liked studebakers, so we lowballed every one of them and got this 1941 president, freshly blasted and painted with zero specks of rust anywhere and the original straigh 8, for $700.
In reply to Patrick (Forum Supporter) :
You never did tell us which car got chosen.
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
I won't know till the award ceremony Monday.
In reply to Patrick (Forum Supporter) :
Could also have been a good place for a near -mint, first year, non descript, Japanese sedan, rolling on period correct gold BBSs.
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
No just 3 that i felt fit the spirit of their categories
If you're going to lay some pipe and fill part of the ditch to make the driveway apron wide enough for the race trailer to get in, may as well just go 40' and fill it all in to make trimming trees easier. Every other year I struggle through the ditch with the pole saw so we can see to pull out of the driveway, too old for that E36 M3

Going to be rebuilding our derpy roof and adding on to the house this fall. With materials being in shortage or danger of heading that way(i ordered the last 4 treated 2x12x20 for example) AND quantities starting to get limited AND inflation happening I went to pound town on my menards and home depot shopping carts and bought all the lumber for the addition and roof. We're also planning a front porch but due to treated wood being scarce i am assuming that will happen next year. I'll likely pull the zoning permit at the same time as the addition and hope material starts flowing again by spring.
i was limited on some things at menards and also by the $5000 limit on my BIG card, but i got it close enough to have a $490 rebate coming(menards 11% rebates have been extended since beginning of covid) that will go towards making the roofing materials sting that much less.
normally i would wait for permit to get materials but E36 M3's weird and i would rather have it stacked and tarped waiting to go. Menards earliest delivery date is 25 days out, so that gives me some finish the Wartburg breathing room before i'm expected to start framing a roof.

It's amazing how a new space, no matter how large, fills up with stuff that you already owned.

You saw my place before, you're not really amazed, you knew it was going to happen.

It should not surprise you that the Batcave-Annex is full, and one of my cars is at work because there isn't room for it at the Batcave right now.
And I have not acquired more stuff.
Well... I did acquire two Volvo engines, but they are all nicely contained on a 36x18x72 shelf in the Annex.
Today did 7.2 miles on my single speed trike. Abby tagged along for 2.4 of those. The park we ride around is 1.2 miles per lap, she's good for 4.
Huh. That 41' Stude looks pretty clutch in gold.
so long, Impala. This makes my Datsun(2015) the 3rd longest tenured vehicle in the stable behind the 54 Belair(1992) and 72 Chevelle(2008)
