A modest update.

When I last posted, this was the status of the car with the Enkeis.

But, this led to a lot of shady people cruising through the fire station parking lot looking at my car. Since we have had multiple things stolen off of the fire truck while we are out on calls, the prospect of my Enkeis coming up missing from the parking lot seemed pretty likely.

So I uglified it.

But, the silver lining in this cloud is that the Enkeis found a more worthy home on my Miata.

Everything is now in homeostasis in my world. The Miata never gets driven or parked in the ghetto. Who am I kidding, it's never even been wet since I've owned it. The car is way pampered. So the Enkeis should be safe and sound. And the Hondoo ? If they steal that ugly bastard, I'll just bum a ride home and chalk it up as a small loss.

The Honda sure looked better on the Enkies- but I definitely understand it.

I'm actually putting one of these Honda's together right now (1997 Coupe) and am also a bit timid about the likeliness of it being stolen. Once it's on the road I'm going to be pretty choosy about where I leave it unattended.

It was too ugly.

24 dollars worth of Amazon Prime hubcaps later.

I'm going to put it up for sale pretty soon so it needed that to increase curb appeal.

I'm not generally a fan of plastic hubcaps, but it does look more cared for. Good luck with the sale!

In Texas, a car with rusty steel wheels and no caps says "I live down a dirt road and have a meth lab in my backyard shed. Plus I have warrants out for my arrest".

The Hondoo broke on me this morning on my way to the firestation. I pulled up at a stoplight by the station and saw steam coming from beneath the hood. So, I limped it to work.

No big deal really. Log in to Advanced Auto Parts, buy radiator and antifreeze, then pick them up some time today when I'm out running calls.

My station is in a poor part of town and the city didn't even bother to pave the employee parking lot.

Literally, removing the radiator is five minutes total using my crappy Harbor Freight emergency tool kit that I carry in the trunk.

Upper tank split in a big way. I should have changed the radiator proactively when I was doing the water pump and coolant hoses.

Oh well, 74 dollars all in with a gallon of Honda antifreeze.

How much will you be asking for this jewel?  We have been loosely looking for an extra car for the household.
