Glad to have you following along.
Unfortunately, not too much to report. It's winter, so paint and graphics need to wait for warmer weather.
(This was the view out my window last week)
I have collected some parts, though.
Now, before I installed the external voltage regulator to replace the (non-functional) one in the PCM the Check Engine Light didn't illuminate, even though the alternator wasn't charging at all.
But once I installed the external VR, the alternator charged great, but the CEL was on. Go figure.
There are sources online that will sell you an "FRM"- Field Replacement Module for nearly $20+ shipping for this fancy bit of technology. But is it so fancy?
Sure looks like a garden variety 50W 10Ω resistor to me.
I paid just under $15 for 5 of these delivered to my door.
When the weather breaks, I will wire one of these puppies into the field wiring for the PCM and mount it next to the regulator.

Well, the weather hasn't broken yet, but...
I have been thinking that DogeVan may look better with a set of turbine wheels on it now that it has graphics. I know, I know. I usually run slots on almost everything, but the colors and shape make me think that maybe some staggered Hurricanes or Turbines wouldn't be a bad idea on the van. But finding 5 on 5.5" makes it tough, and finding them staggered is even more difficult. I had tried to pull the trigger on a set of 15x10 random turbines in northern Wisconsin with a different set of matching 15x7s in Peoria over the summer, but couldn't make the logistics work out. (and the 15x10s were spray bombed black o a rough offroad rig, so my confidence wasn't very high to take a 5 hour trip one way to see them)
But about a week ago these popped up locally-
Ohhh
Emm
GEEEEEEE.
Appliance TurboVecs!! Those are some of the sexiest turbine style wheels made.
And he had a pair of 275/60R15 BFGs that he was throwing into the mix!
I couldn't pass them up, even though they were all 10" wide.
Messed around a little with DollarStorePhotoShop just to get an idea or two of what to do with the insets between the spokes.
This is an (Incredibly) rough draft-
(I don't expect to use the colors quite like that, nor do I think I will be using ALL of them, but at least it gives me a few ideas)
I will find a pair (or set) of 7-8" wide fronts eventually. In fact, I actually have found some 8.5" fronts, but they are near Canton, Ohio, and might need the GRM Enabling Squad to help me out until I can take a drive out there to bring them home.
Hmm, haven't visited Patrick on a while...Off to map out a 6 hour Road Trip.
I'm probably in north canton tomorrow night.

Hmmm.
These are listed in Massillion, which if correct, is about 20 minutes away.
Let me make sure he still has them, and actually is where his listing says he is.

Talking with the seller now.
I'll bother you through text from this point on...

That looks like those wheels have always been on the van.
Good call!

GRMer Chandler totally came through and grabbed the front TurboVec wheels for me.
From one wheel HOarder to another, I really appreciate you grabbing these for me and bringing them a bit closer so I could pick them up. I owe you, Brother.
My pleasure, I'm just out driving around anyway lol. Can't wait to see the staggered goodness installed.
Have fun getting the wheels prepped and on the van!
Woo Hoo!
Just started masking one of the wheels the other day.
But as long as I had the tape out, I figured I would get busy at something else that needed paint.
Still need to do something about that window, however...

Looking good!
(User name change is also appreciated)
Not just a pretty face.
She works hard for the money. (Chicago to Omaha to bring home some Lumber)
Had some V-Belt issues on the way out, but DogeVan ran flawlessly on the way home, and I think managed over 10 MpG pulling the loaded trailer. She deserves better than me, but at least I gave her an oil change,
For the window, have you considered perforated vinyl in a matching color?

That's the plan, but I keep getting distracted with things like Cheap Grand Wagoneers.
Why wasn't I informed about this??
I have been casually looking for a spoiler for DogeVan, but i wasn't looking to spend $400+ for one.
Then, yesterday, I saw this-
Yep, that is what it looks like.
And I already have one in stock
Went out a couple minutes ago to mock it up, just to get an idea.
It sits high, but the mounting studs are still in it, which raise the spoiler over an inch. I can also shorten the pedestals, if need be.
After a BUNCH of false starts, bad weather, old window seals and some 3m Dual Lock and paint, these are finally installed.
Wuddya say?
Louver or Leave Her??
Love it! But don't see a spoiler on it??
In reply to jfryjfry :
You also don't see bubble windows.
Won't install the spoiler until I paint it. And it's too cold to paint.
I cannot believe I missed this thread.
Cooter, please tell me you still have this thing...
Yup. Still have it. Need to drop the tank to put in a new fuel pump, though.
