Ditch the inner drivers fender stuff, that's all heavy. The passenger side stuff weighed a ton.
Y'all make me wish I had a C5, or 4, to cut up! I have a 87 F-body, but not sure how much it take to reinforce it enough. I actually like the quick and dirty approach on the hood. Great work.

How dix you get it all off the passengers side without hurting tbe paint on the outer? Because the drivers is on tomorrow list.

Pimpm3 did an F body ghettocet parking lot build for the Challenge. Unfortunately the pictures are missing from the thread but here it is (F body comes in on page 4).
Thanks, Stampie! Only a few bits of tech info, but the video link gives me some good inspiration! I want A LOT more off the car than that! After striping it, I'd have to haul it all the way up tho NC for the upper tube "chassis" build part. Now I just gotta figure out how to get the financial manager on board!
Needs moar body drop. Wheel arches should break through tops of fenders / quarters. That would be berkeleying sick!

Find me some 28-30 tall 17 inch slicks for autocross and wheels to run them. must be at least 18 inches wide. THEN ill cut the body off and body drop it more....
Well, if you're not gonna channel the body now, you are certainly even less likely to go back after the cage is done and do it.
What's the plan to cover the exposed framerails?
Big problem with channeling the body is dash and firewall. Right now, it lines up prettu well at the base of the windshield. Channeling would put the vette dash above the cowl.
As far as tbe rockers/cowl: the bottom 6 inches of corvair were cut off due to rust and chassis swap.
We got the monza spec aluminum rocker trim with the car. It covers the vette frame rails nicely. Thats honestly about as far as ive gotten down that road.
In person it was already a lot lower than I expected. I think Michael told me it'll be like 3 inches even lower now. I doubt your notice the rockers as is but trim of course couldn't hurt. Maybe Michael could give us a roof height. I'm guessing it'll be as low if not lower than my Miata.

53 inches roof.
8 inch from the ground rail height front, 7 rear. I need 3.5 and the damn thing is bottomed on the stock bolts. Needs a lit of movement to settle.
No real update till its back outside fpr customer cars. I have spoken.
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael :
should the "i have spoken" part be read in the voice of Nick Nolte?
In reply to Justjim75 :
Nah. Samuel l jackson.
Also got the stampie/lilstampie sesl of approval yesterday.
Maybe update tonight. Gotta help dad today.
Flares start well above the opening.... you could easily have flares starting level with the top of the trunk and hood!
So happy to see progress!
