Dan is making more progress on the RWD Probe.
http://forums.probetalk.com/showthread.php?t=1701310615
The RWD Probe is now finished, and wearing 275/40-17 rear, 245/40-17 front rubber.
And is for sale.

It amazes me when people put all this work and commitment into some of the crazier builds, only to sell it when it's "complete" with no real further development. I guess there are more people out there like me than I previously thought!

Heh, this will be the 5th time that this person has done this that i can remember. There was another RWD Probe made from RX7 parts, two 323s, and his low 10s FWD Probe drag car...
Now this.
Some people just like the build.
Scratch built SBC powered Roadster Crazy guy is crazy...car will be ridiculous, in that good way that makes you giggle like a little kid

That's a cool one!
This is Epic, not jsut for what it is, but where it started and that it's basicaly made from junk and scrap with almost zero $$'s
110 days (yes late April to early August 2008) fromt this: To this, the finished article
It's not just a quick chop either. The body sides are the rook with the old door inners added for strength. The engine was moved about a foot rearward. Those are mototcycle tires on the front. Totaly rebuilt suspension and adding bike carbs and making it run correctly. This guy is grassroots. http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/39982/mayday-thread-car#page=1
ALWAYS enjoyed looking through the build (not yet completed) for the MID BEC LMP...

Thanks for that. A 1994 Ford Probe GT was the only new car I've ever purchased. Definitely have a soft spot for them.
Their forum software requires you to join AND have 15 posts before you can see for sale? That seems ... dumb. Dan doesn't mention his current ask in the thread.

If i posted all my views on how that particular site was run, it'd take at least 12 paragraphs. I have some rather large issues with it.
Anyways... current asking price is $8500 i believe. Added a torsen rear end and a 6spd.
This one isn't really much of a build thread yet, but it's a cool project. Young guy takes an old unloved Austin Allegro (All-agro as they were know) and turns it into a fun sprint / Hillclimb car then goes to the Isle of Mann for the Manx classic. To me this is the epitoma of a grass roots build. Take somethign cheap and unloved add some elbow greas and injinuity and build a fast fun car.
As purchased
At the event
Bike carbs
i know you guys like cars that turn, but this is a pretty cool build.
