It'll be fine at my house for a minute. I'll even make sure to keep the battery charged and cobwebs off!
Stampie mentioned the 18th, so 12 days of someone else's electric car ownership should tell me if I will like the future or not.....

Looks like payment is in the mail, so I'm going to call my Leaf SOLD SOLD SOLD. I hope sleepyhead enjoys it as much as I have!
amazing what you can do with the internet these days... like buying a car sight-unseen from another country
Yeah, at first I was skeptical, but then when you said you were a Nigerian Prince and your uncle would be picking the car up I knew I was in good hands.
In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :
Want me to build a custom battery box for it while it's in my care?
In reply to Stampie :
I can do a sweet rustoleum paint job too!
Sleepyhead: we aim to enable. Thanks for letting us!

I thought it already came with one, from the factory?

So, just so it's entirely clear... this is going to be sleepywife's car. She's kinda persnickety about cars keeping their "from the factory" paint color. So... uh, I'll pass on that for now.
Picking this up, though, should help me to try and bring a Challenge car circa 2022/2023. So, I might bug you about rustoleum paint secrets sometime in the future.
As for enabling... I do appreciate it. Hopefully this will get us a couple years for the used car market to... {ahem} calm the berkeley down; and sleepywife gets to try out that sweet sweet #EVLyfe for hopefully relatively low risk.
In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :
I'm sure the factory one is heavier than it needs to be. Maybe a few speed holes.

I tried to PM you but just checking to make sure you're still wanting me to take the Leaf to Michael. If you need it my number is F250 in the area of 904 with 6003 at the end. Best to text as I often don't have the phone on me.
In reply to Stampie :
I started an email to you and Michael on monday... and it got super long winded, so I closed it with the intent to try and make it much shorter. I'll try to get something out to the two of you in the next five minutes.
In reply to clutchsmoke :
Probably? I may have a more definitive answer in a couple weeks, if someone doesn't chime in before. You'd probably have to have someone in it to get the most out of doing that, though?
edit:
also, woohoo! Thanks again, y'all!
In reply to Stampie :
a Leaf nustled amongst leaves. Nice. She be relatively at 'home' at BuffaloHollow, when it gets up there. Lots of leaves there too.
Replaced the rear wheel straps with some longer ones I liked better. Also now that the log splitter is out of the bed we moved it forward. Grandma Stampie enjoyed her 9 inch drive. Hopefully that means we can go over 68 mph on the way to NC tomorrow. She's all ready to head out in the morning.
I love a properly sized pickup that isn't massive.
I hope this serves Buffalo well, I'm always skeptical of purchasing vehicles with nearly 50,000 miles without a single oil change on the maintenance history. Obviously Tom is a DIYer, but some records on stuff like that is nice.
In reply to captdownshift (Forum Supporter) :
Oh I didn't say it's had frequent oil changes. There's no oil!
In reply to captdownshift (Forum Supporter) :
There's definitely some oil in there, but I think the interval is like 60,000 miles or something crazy. The main drive gear is lubricated, but the lubricant lasts a long time without combustion contaminants.
In reply to captdownshift (Forum Supporter) :
More truck porn for you. Grandma Stampie's farm truck.
In reply to Stampie :
I really do love me some standard cab trucks. Now that I'm aware that the SCSB Tundra was available, though unicorn status, I suspect that I'll end up with one at some point.
So we got up to Michael's and realized that we must have left the Leaf on last night. So what do you do? Well you jump start an EV with an ICE.
That got us to where Lil Stampie could get it into Neutral. Then Michael and I learned that you can get 9 miles of range by pushing a Leaf off the trailer. Figured Sleepyhead wanted more range so it was thrown on the charger.
Then I got the bestest deal ever. I traded a Leaf I had no money into for Darth Nader. I came out way ahead on this one.
Stu then showed up in his TR3. He graciously offered for us to take it around the block. I have a long term secret crush on TR3s. You know how they say never met your hero? It was berkeleying great. Way better than I ever thought it could be. I need a TR3 in my life.
