Hey keith!

hows the crx? Its been a while since an update on this awesome thread.

just picked myself up a first gen crx. 1987. Gotta say its won me over.

as you know, the plastic is the bane of my existence. Where did you source the fiberglass body parts? Looks like a great alternative to endless repairs

Vice Grip Garage just did a rescue on one of these.  An 86 maybe?  Worth a watch on YouTube.  Although with the knowledge Keith has on these little buggies, it may be frustrating since Derek basically started from knowing nothing about them.

I've heard of that video, but I don't usually watch YouTube automotive videos. The shenanigan/information ratio is poor, and when I see things like "it's been parked for 16 years WILL IT RUN?" I figure "well, probably, as long as you clean out the fuel system". OMG, just looked - it's THREE HOURS? And I scrolled to a random spot and there's a big guy sitting on the fragile front header panel. That time would be better spent working on my own CRX :)

I don't really have a lot of knowledge about these, only what I've gleaned from keeping this one alive using factory manuals wherever possible as well as general automotive knowledge. I'd love to say I searched it out amongst hundreds but really I just got stupidly lucky by finding the car that matched the picture in my head easily and that happened to be in excellent shape.

The 'glass fenders came from here: https://www.nskicomposite.fr/en/crx-8487-xsl-474_492_493.html

I haven't been driving the car much, it's been trapped in the garage with other cars in the way.
