Rear came out today
All getting ready to prep underside, engine bay and interior first
Seems the vinyl roof was added at the dealer or later, we found black marker lines under the material, the roof however is much better than we were worried about, no rust holes through, just a couple of bubbles.
Interior prep is about to start, a nice virgin white inside and under the hood to help trace any leaks
Square tube replaces the original thin round wall, located under the radiator, that is always bent by someone thinking it is a strong tie down/tow point
Rust removal
Driver's side inner fender rust, removed and metal replaced
More rust repairs, passenger inner fender
Sill at front of passenger side door opening
None of these repairs will be visible but they are structural so they needed to be repaired with steel.
Nice metal work on the car. I can't remember the last time I've seen one of those in person.
I made a couple of purchases on eBay, an aluminum radiator with silicone hoses for less than $160 and two new fiberglass fenders for $200 which is a definite steal, they runs $400 @ from the manufacturers
