Is it bathroom caulk you're using as body filler? That's inspired.
It's molding/trim chalk. Both sandable and paintable unlike most bathroom chalk.
I like the "inspired" lable. I usually get the "different" lable which doesn't sound as good.

I've had a lot of success with "bespoke" and "artisanal."
Some days are just better than others. Today was just one of the good ones. First I really wanted to get the headlights looking decent. A light coat of transmission fluid and then a few minutes of running the buffer and I was happy. Before After Then onto the front windshield. Same as the rear we already had our template made out of hard board. Clamped that to our lexan and cut it out with a router. Then welded in our tabs and center brace. All the metal in. After that we drilled the holes and did a test fit bolting it all down. At this point we were happy with what we got finished so called it a night. Still need to pull it, install the weather stripping, and do the final fitting. Also Chris unbolted the passenger seat so that's ready to come out.
OK bad news first. We had a diff leak but plan was to change the pinion seal tonight. Pull the diff (yet again) only to find the pinion bearing is shot. Btw Chris pulled it mostly before Asa and I even got there. So that sucks. Got a line on a replacement but can't get it until Saturday morning. So on to the windshield. Did some adjustments for a final fitting and she looks good. Chris dropped his screwdriver bit down into the abs stuff. I felt bad but not bad enough I couldn't take this picture. So we have a car that'll pass tech but we'll just have to push it all day in the autocross and the drags.
This Saturday or next Saturday? If it's next Saturday, I could see if I can find one locally (decent chance I can) and bring it with me so you could install it as soon as you get to the Challenge, it would cost you roughly double what you might pay in the States though.
Did some stripping of the front today. Found another $20 bill and 60¢ in change. That brings our purchase price down to around $5. This 20 was near where the other was found beside the drivers seat. John we also worked on a special surprise for you. Hope to be able to show you tomorrow.
Andy wouldn't sully good drugs with a car like that.
What kind of pad did you use with the ATF to polish a headlight? I'm expecting something suitably ghetto that will learn me a trick.
Just your basic terry cloth 10 inch pad. Honestly didn't really need the buffer but I'm a lazy SoB and my friend had one. Could have just rubbed it out by hand.
Next time, trying using a can off "OFF" mosquito repellent and a cloth . Soak the cloth with the "OFF", lay the cloth on JUST the headlight for five minutes and wipe it clean! It really works well on those poly carbonate lenses.
Ooh, a special surprise.
I wonder if the surprise is the paint color?
Will it be ivory pearl with excessive gold trim?
Maybe it will just be solid gold!
Last full day build day for us. The guy delivered the diff last night so we're going to get on it right after donuts.
You'll need to log in to post.
