Would love to see an update on this, as I have a '66 Plymouth project also.

I would love nothing more than to have an update to post. Currently waiting for funds and time to reach sufficient excess to apply them to this project. laugh

After a long wait, some progress was made today. I have been accumulating some parts, and had some free time today, so I decided to introduce them to the Valamino.

Removal of the intake and valve covers revealed a fairly clean valvetrain with no wiggly rockers.

Cast iron intake weighed a berkeley ton. Craigslist $40 New old stock Edelbrock Performer intake saved at least a few pounds. Felpro gasket set $13.65 on amazon. Old, meet newish:

I absolutely love these valve covers, and I don't even care if I overpaid for them at $150 for the pair (craigslist). I had originally intended to paint them, but wanted to get this buttoned up for today so I installed them as is. Felpro cork gasket set $18.67.

I have an Edelbrock carb ready to go on and a few parts on order, but that will have to wait for the next installment. Hopefully it won't be too long before I can fire her up again!

It's good to see you back.  You've been missed.

Today I got the carb ($356) and oil catch can ($23) mounted. The air cleaner was included with the intake ($0). Need to make a bracket for the throttle cable and pick up a few hoses and such, but a bit more progress was made so I wanted to post up a few pics.

(Yes, this crappy little hose will be replaced, and yes those are some boogery welds on the firewall. At some point those will be addressed, but not today.)

It was a great day for wrenching, really couldn't ask for nicer weather.
