Personally? I'd see if the guy you sent the $ to will refund you because it's obviously not as described. If not I'd go get it out of principle since you paid for it, but even that might be throwing good money after bad for the gas

the irony is that its next to a large shipping container, where it could have been stored. or maybe he has 2 and that one you saw is the bad one.

This is what I'm tending towards. Going to call the seller again today.
Hmm, Jim passed away last year and his widow is going to sell ALL of his toys.
Mostly junk like 57 T-bird, Austin Bantams, 32 Fords, T-Buckets, but there is a Devin/Sprite in the shop.
I was after it for myself but just HAVE to stop buying more projects.
It is basically a somewhat rough body on a tube chassis, bonnet is missing.
But being Sprite based mechanical parts could not be easier.
I have a ton of suspension and possibly a 1098 engine core, rib-case trans.
Not sure what the widow will want for it, do know she is a bit greedy, can inquire if there is interest.
I had one like it over thirty years ago, wish I had it back.
In reply to Woody (Forum Supportum) :
Lol. Thanks for the laugh. Heading to Gainesville to drop the Devin and trailer off.
Man. I'll be honest, Stampie. I dont know if The World's Most Expensive Boat was in worse condition than this or not, and it was actively being used as a planter when I rescued it.
Anyways, when you wanna host a fiberglass party, let us know.
Glad you finally got it sorted out , did you get the doors ?
I am still looking for a VW or Corvair powered Devin , they do not have a front grill opening .
In reply to californiamilleghia :
Yep got them.
I got there around 11:30 this morning. Dude actually answered text within a few minutes. I asked him if I should back the trailer in but he said the body was really light.
We walked over to the body and he reached down and picked up the rear end. Not attached to the front end. Oh my mind said. Yep cut right at the door stills with about a foot section missing on the driver's side. Alrighty then let's load up. His story is different from the "seller's" story. Honestly I'm not going to play a blame game. I have a Devin that I can do something with.
Any more dash pictures? Im looking for inspiration.
Also, that doesn't look too terrible. I mean, how bad can it really be?

Shh! The car can hear you from there.
And I do use "car" in the loosest possible terms. But hey, that just means it's more of a blank slate, right?
What kind of chassis was originally under this?
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
They used various chassis depending on the body size. This size would have normally used a MGA or older or TR frame.
Hell, that's fairly easy to replace that missing foot section. Get me some measurements and I can 3D print you some positives so you can start to make a mold.
Look at the positives you could give it away in a few years and someone could put it overtop a grand marquis frame and win the challenge.

It's still way nicer than the Devin that I don't have.

Oh, you mean like this $1500 MGA?
