Unexpectedly find myself offering my 1961 Tourer for sale.
I would have put it into the Classic Cars column but I get the feeling that niche gets few looks.
Originally had no intention to sell it but now find myself scheming to get a 69 MGB-GT at a very good price.
Somewhat short on funds even if I max the credit card and dubious that the Classic Car lenders will do a small loan.
So the Morris Minor is for sale until either someone grabs it, I find another way to get the B, or I give up on/get beat to, buying the B.
Morris is basically a good sound car with some restoration done well and some still to be sorted.
Been using it as the daily driver with no real issues once I sorted out some minimal wiring mistakes and replaced the fuel pump with a German "Upgrade".
Original SU pump goes with it and I am sure can be made to work again.
Just obtained the missing round heater for it but not installed yet.
Four new Pirelli Cinturato tires on original 14" rims. A couple of the rims should be replaced as they do not run true.
Can supply good 13" bare rims in your choice of style if desired.
Only rust-out I have found is a small patch in the passenger floor.
Original? 948/smooth case, single carb, new wire loom, alternator conversion, new carpets, decent Hood with clean rear Isinglass. Shifts fine so long as you do not rush it.
All gauges and lights now working, speedo accuracy has not been verified.
Seats and interior upholstery panels are poor, White paint looks like Rustoleum spray can.
Yet I cannot go anywhere without getting several thumbs-up, waves, and misty-eyed recollections from senior citizens who "Wish I had kept mine"!
To sweeten the deal I have a low mileage 1098 and rib-case from a 1966 Sprite that can go with it if wanted.
Been sitting a long time so assume needs a rebuild but turns over freely.
If the car does not sell I will eventually fit this engine.
To sweeten it even more I will also supply the Sprite diff if desired.
And in homage to late night pitchmen, "Wait, there's MORE"!
Take the spare fenders too.
Clean Nevada title in my name, so export would not be an issue.
Pics in the AM.
