I don't know if I'd want one of those or not, but they certainly are cool. An odd thing I cant shake is the fact that the V4 engine in this Saab has the same bellhousing pattern as a 4.0 V6 from a 2010 Mustang.

Number 1 - that's an incredibly arcane piece of knowledge, wow
Number 2 - I'm sure the Saab trans is useless behind a modern 4.0 v6. I wouldn't be surprised if the 4.0 could twist the case in half

Ahhh... this is because the V4 was the original engine for the 1963 Mustang 1
Ford Cosworth BOB and BOA should bolt in as well, which I think would be nicer for this application than the 4.0 OHC. But honestly I think I would rather build the V4.
The Tanus/Cologne V4/V6 engine family has a lot of members and there are a number of weirdo variants.
I used to ice race a 96. When all the Hondas et al are running hot or overheating, we'd rip into the pits, throw a shovel of snow in and take off. Try that with aluminum.
These engines are used in industrial applications like large compressors or pumps.
