Pinto's still on the table guys, someone please buy this! I'm led to believe it could be a low quality TFI module that makes it cut out at high RPM.
You could ignore it, but if I told you what he said his bottom line was you just won't. I suggested +$50 if he meets me halfway (2hrs vs 4 hrs away).
No response on that one; it may be worth the 4 hour drive to someone, but not me. Sorry Stampie.
No, he'll call and wire cash or something. Besides, teasing, taunting and being a jerk isn't enabling. Enabling is offering a car the guy desires for like free, right? Worse, telling his wife it's free and have HER nag him.
OK, maybe tomorrow, the seller might change his mind and everything is off .....

I've considered having it stored local to him and somehow getting the money to him. I have resisted the urge to actually look more into a storage solution.
Lets see if he responds to my counter offer, I really don't want to tow for 4+ hours each way. Guy's available on Saturdays but this Sat is Supercars on the Lawn at a museum 3 miles from me.
Seller offered to meet me half way, see if he will still do it for his $800 drop dead price. I offered $850 to meet, no answer yet..
Lets see how it shakes out Stampie, you may end up with it anyway.
Sorry Stampie, last post.
The seller agreed to meet me 2 hrs away bringing the Pinto with all spares and wheels for $850. Because I currently have a shiny Goldwing project that hasn't moved forward in weeks, I could easily look at the Pinto one day and say, "Meh, I'm retired and out of gas on these big projects". When that happens you're up first.

I'll take sloppy seconds on that deal.
Hmmm. Seller offered to make the 4 hour trip, he's on vacation. I promised $50 + a bottle of wine (or a 12 pack).
Thank YOU !!

I take the dibs if/when you get tired of it. Congrats it looks like it'll be a cool car once done.

I would be willing to join in that madness.
Oh boy! An update:
Worked the museum from 10-1:00, fun moving cars. Sold the Goldwing project for more than ever expected!
After a month of doinking with a 20 something with a wife and baby at home, we agreed on $800 + $50 to meet me half way (2 hours out) for the Pinto. Went to U-Haul and got a dolly, parked in front of the house because they don't back up, headed inside for dinner.
Ping!!
"It's the seller. Yeah, really hate to do this....."
He bailed. His father wants to redo it.
I didn't relay all the words that were in my head, didn't use profanity, just pointed out that a phone call would be the least he could do. Then suggested he man the eff up. I didn't swear.
I brought the dolly back. Fun.
Sent these to my son and he said, "Awwww, I already got you a Fathers' Day gift". =~ (
