Ok - well - after rats ate the wiring on my Grand Marquis (see that thread....) - and - the hurricane put a 70' tree on my Silverado - I figured it was time to start getting rid of stuff that sits around.

With that out of the way let's do the good and bad:

Good:

1.  A folder of receipts that adds up to 1 billion dollars from the previous owner and I.

2.  Zero rust at all.  Hey - it's a FL and NC car.   I don't even know what rust is - but I hear about it.

3.  Starts - runs - everything works (AC, windows, sunroof, heat, blah blah blah) - BUT oh - not the Radio.   So, not everything works.  More on that later.  Zero overheating - runs fine.

4.  Look at that leather!

5.  No - I didn't wash it or clean it at all - but - 2 hours of washing and buffing and it shines.

6.  AWD with a LS.   It's got a LS yo!!!

7.  New'ish Michelins that cost more than I'm asking for the entire vehicle!

8.   156k'ish miles.   IDK if that is good or bad.

9.  Set the cruise at 85mph - smooth and calm ride.   2 trips to Disney with the family - great highway car.

10.  Run this at the challenge!

Bad:

1.  A folder of receipts that adds up to 1 billion dollars from the previous owner and I.

2.  THE WORST:  Even with my race car driver reflexes this thing is a handful when braking.   I don't know why.   I don't think it's a stuck caliper - and - I did peek to see if anything was loose.   IDK what's going on - but - unless your an accomplished road racer with years of experience going from 170mph to 30mph in a hairpin turn in heavy rain - I'd be worried about driving it.   Maybe it's easy to fix - maybe not - IDK.   THAT is why it's 1k.   I was just about to jack it up in the driveway and take a closer look - but - then looked at all my other projects and - yeah - here it is.   :)

3.  Big battery drain when the radio fuse is in.   The radio fuse is out.   My wife called me one day from the store and said "hey, the Saab is smoking from the radio".   I said "is there fire?".  She siad "no".  I said "is it stopping?".   She said "yes".   I said - ok - drive'er home - but - if you see fire bail out!    I'm a loving husband.    SINCE then - we did put a radio in - but - yeah.   Something must be fried in there - somewhere.

4.  I'm including the solution to the drain - the battery cutoff switch!   Yeah - that's a negative hence it's here in the bad section.

OK - that's more than anybody should type for a running, driving, but hopefully you never have to stop in it's current condition hot rod SUV.

Whew...

Pretty sure I'll take it if you don't mind waiting a week or two for pickup (I'm out west for work until 11/14).

"Pretty sure" if fine with me - and - waiting a week or two for pickup is also fine with me.

It's yours.   :)

Obviously (ha - so I'll say it) just post here if you change your mind.   Also - my garage and tools are yours to use for any investigation and/or fixing you'd like to do while here.

Will do!  I will see about a fix in the driveway, vs. limping it to a friend's house.  Any more info on the brake symptoms? (pulling to one side, just no pedal, etc.)  It would be driving (slowly & carefully) to Huntersville.

It truly was the wife's truckster for years - then - it sat for 8 months?   9?   IDK.....   Stopped fine when parked.  :)

Then we thought "hey - we sort of liked that thing - let's drive it again".   Test drive resulted in hard pull to the left under high speed braking - low speed everything is fine.   Made me think it was a stuck caliper but it really doesn't seem so (well - I didn't really even take 5 min to jack it up and check....  Ha....).   But - if that was all it was - no big deal.   Really - it scares the crap out of me after that hard pull to the left - seems - squirrelly - and I'm a professional wheel man (ok - like - I raced karts and legends cars - but hey - that counts).   SO - it makes me think something is broken somehow up front - but really no idea what it could be.   A 4 second examination didn't tell me anything.   OTHER than that - brakes are awesome and also new'ish before we parked it.   Full pedal - pads'a'plenty - shiny new'ish rotors.   Once you figure out the front end (again - could be easy) it'll be back to a great suv.

Hope some of that helps.

G35 6MT Sedan is going to be posted next for anybody feeling bad they missed out on this!  :)

Well - as I'm 55+ years old - I feel like it's the American Way to have a GM so likely keeping it.    Unless wires get chewed again in which case you can have it for free.....  LOL.

Been slowly slowly looking for one for a Challenge, so free would be amazing!  Hope the rats stay away though.
What year is it, just in case?

2007.  80k miles.   I waive to other old folks driving the exact same thing.   My wife hates it more than Jeep TJ waiving!

I don't need it, but if for some reason Flynlow ends up passing, I'll come down with a trailer. Always liked those.

Great to meet you too legendscar95!  Thanks for such an easy sale!

For those keeping score at home, the car was nicer than described, and I think we've got the issue ID'd (wasn't the brakes, probably lower control arms).  Really excited to have an inexpensive tow pig for a while, and maybe a powertrain for the M715 in the future.

Also, had a funny thought on the drive home..."Just need to pop down to the Saab dealer and get a 2nd key"

(frantic whispering)

"WHAT?  Since when???" :P
