Where can you buy a running sub $3k car anymore. Plus low mileage and spec V fun.

Good thing that's on the opposite side of the country, otherwise I'd have to figure out where I'd be putting it.
Would this drivetrain fit in an '83 Civic? Asking for a friend.
If this wasn't 2,500 miles away, I'd buy it with the intent to pull the engine but then enjoy it too much and just end up with another fun way to burn cash. And a Civic shell that still doesn't move...
Can anyone confirm that it really is a spec v? My friend said he thought they all had gold brembo calipers. Of course they could be painted but wondering if there were other tells
Looks like a specV to me. The 6 speed manual was only on the V. Non V SER had a five speed manual or the automatic transmission. The front Brembos were an option not standard.
I've driven a b13 SE-R but never this generation with the 2.5, what were they like? Torquey and lower revving than the Civic Si of that era ?
In reply to dannyp84 :
Yes, exactly. I have this exact same car, which I actually be selling very shortly. The engine is comparatively lazy next to the Si, however it has far better torque. It pulls hard from 2000rpm and runs out of steam before 6000. Interior is still very Sentra. Handling is quite good, very quick responses from the steering. As a budget back road stormer or HPDE toy it's pretty damn good.
