My son has stumbled upon a restored 1952 MG TD that is in super shape, we are about to make an offer on it the beginning of the week. The owner has told us that this vehicle has some past race history. It sports grille badges for Monza, a race in Lichtenstein, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and a 'Queen Elizabeth' Race/Rally in which it finished second! Problem is, how can this be confirmed? The owner is asking a fair market price for the car, regardless of the history. I know this is a reasonable price for the car, but would love to prove it's racing heritage for when we show it. Is there any way this can be done ? Any help would be most appreciated.
