Small cross post incase some people do not look at the racing section.
Last weekend I stopped being a spectator and became a racer.
I attended the 31st VARAC Vintage Fest @ Mosport.
What an experience it was. My first timings showed a 2:07 and by the last race on Sunday I managed a 1:54 with more to come.
The FIAT and I gel'd well. The car seemed to handle the demands of the track very nicely despite the limited setup.
Below you'll find photos and a full video from the last race.
I got a meatball flag near the end of the session due to my exhaust letting go.
Must sort that out.

why is it the cage always looks out of place, gives the car an ungainly look.
in the original days ,race cars looked so much cooler without all that stuff up on top.
Yes,, i know aint allowed to race ,as they did in old days.
it was so exciting,(adreniline rush,) when you were closer to the edge.
Ya know?? i wonder if we did get more out of racin back then?
You could always go back to racing in pants, short sleeve shirts and leather helmets.
I have no plans on dying anytime soon.
You see the 914 behind me in the photo?
His front hood became unhinged at speed last year. It folded over the top bar on his cage and tapped on the helmet.
With no cage it would have been far more serious.
I can assure you I got all I could out of that weekend and made it home to kiss my wife and kid.

That is awesome! Congrats, I'm jealous!
Thanks dude well over a years worth of hard work just to prep the car.
It almost did not happen due to the house, but in the end I had to make a gut check call and just do it.
Tick in the box. Totally hooked now.
Hey! That's the Philson Falcon behind you. He was at our NH Vintage too. Cool car!
Sounds like things went well. Congrats!
(Both my vintage racers have cages. Wouldn't race without one)
They mixed the groups for the "large" bore group so there was some serious power out there. I was really worried about those cars, but everyone was super and passed me clean.
On the cage did I mention I'm 6.2
I tired other cars. Hell the FIAT's roll bar would have been fine, but my shoulder was outside of the bar. That's not cool.
So we build it to work for me.

Great video. Car looks good. I recognize a lot of those cars from my events. I bet some of them will be at Pittsburgh with me.
Nice kid/Dad shot too!
I raced with the red #98 Sprite (on the dyno) a number times.Nice guy and nice car. Wonder what his HP was?
No idea what his HP it was a friend's video.
AKA my cheering section.
Kinda fun to see the outside view.
It sure did not feel that fast from inside the car.
