I've been looking at small pickups for awhile and saw one of these. I know very little about these and don't seem to see them often. Especially 4X4s. It seems like parts might be harder to come by with so few. Anyone have much experience, caveats, stories with the Pup?

Thanks, Stan

I almost bought a 2wd one of these almost 10 years ago and I think parts were hard to come by then so I passed on it.

Had a couple and the only real complaint is that they are painfully slow suffering from outdated cabs in a fuel injected world. Great mini truck overall but the lack of power and mileage mean they need to be a steal to be worth it. With that said the one I sold 16 yrs ago is still running around my old neighborhood...

Available in non-turbo diesel as well in case the blistering acceleration of all that gas powered one scares you off.

Parts will be hard to find. I'm having trouble finding parts for an 87 4Runner, and those trucks are stupid popular.

Thanks guys. About what I thought. I haven't heard back from the guy anyway, so I'm wondering if it's sold.

...if not...and no rust...I might go ahead and get it. I know the Chevy Luv trucks were these and I do see some of those occasionally. (One just sold on ebay for about $300 locally).

There were several 4 cylinder motors. I had the biggest one attached to a 5sp in my '86. It was plenty. Someone gave me the truck in '99. I drove it like it owed me money. Sold it for $500 two years later. Nothing ever broke. Wasn't much to break.
