Wow even side by side the changes aren't obvious. That wasn't a facelift, it was more like when your wife changes her make up and says "Do I look better?"

"Yes, Ford, I absolutely love your new face!!!! It makes you look younger and 200 pounds lighter."

I dig the new nose. Maybe it's a little subtle, but I found the effect pronounced. It does a little more of the hard curve down and in I associate with a few Italians of the '60s, if I'm thinking correctly.

Bah, this is a terrible example, but some carried a fairly "normal" grille low and narrow, so there's a pronounced taper from above the wheels down and in to the grille.

No, I'm not saying the mustang resembles this car, just that it shares that particular trait, and it's a particular thing I've always liked.

First I heard of this was some butt hurt article about a guy claiming Ford should refund peoples ticket cost for the auto show or given the peeps who came early a free pass to come back to see the facelifted Mustang. I guess it was a big secret that this was going to be revealed. Ford was so serious about keeping it a secret, they decided to only make very subtle changes that hardly anyone would notice. That way if the secret leaked out, they could still deny there was a facelift at all.

Ii do like the front and hood better.

At a minimum, without any options, the V8 is $7k to $8k (vs the EB and V6 respectively) more expensive. Money I'd rather put into going topless.

If any exhaust available for the EB was capable of making it sound more 'Abarth' than 'GTI', then maybe, just maybe, I'd consider it. Otherwise, no thanks.

Borla S-Type EB 0:31 through 0:49

Borla S-Type V6 0:27 through 0:45

Ford made it clear that they wanted to push people into the EB, to force its success with their wider EB corporate goals, and it's just not something I'm interested in. I'd rather buy a used 15-17 V6 Convertible (which do appear to be depreciating nicely) and mod it into the car I otherwise might have just bought from Ford. Sound is just too much a part of the sensory experience I'm looking for in a car like this, even without going V8. Something the new Camaro offers in spades on the V6, even stock with the optional dual-mode muffler, but the 18 Mustang will now completely and totally fail to deliver.

I'm going to reserve judgement on the redesign until I see it in person. I definitely see some ND inspiration in the nose, which isn't a bad thing IMO.

The real meat and potatoes of this mid-cycle refresh comes underneath though. The Coyote gets direct injection (in addition to the port injection). The EcoBoost gets a torque bump. The 10 speed auto trans comes to the party. Interior updates, etc.

I'm also in agreement with those who are sad to see the v6 option go away. Before Ford neutered it to incentivize EcoBoost sales, it was a great engine.

To Tom and the others, yes yes you are right, I should have said 18 not 17.

My personal opinion, nothing to do with the little blue oval at the top of my pay check. I really like how it visually lowers the nose in front of the front wheels. I'm less keen in the images of the angularity of the air intake and the execution of the headlights, they look too Japanese to me, which in themselves is fine, just not as keen on a flag waving Muscle car. It looks good in person though.

I love that V6 exhaust someone posted the you tube link of on the first page. Wow that sounds good. I would have loved that on one of our S550 V6's we had. I would not put an aftermarket exhaust on an EB Mustang though, my dinosaur brain still can't get around 4cy hot hatch noises coming from a Mustang (Yes yes, I know all about SVO's, I don't need a history lesson) I can't wait for the hybrid though.

I think the front headlight bucket area and hood in the 2018 mirror the changes between 1966 and 1967, and I like it. I can't tell if there were any tweaks to the rear.

I like it, but if I were in the market I would wait until '20 for the new one.

I also like that you can get the gt350 exhaust and dampeners on the GT now.

Any idea when they will publish the power numbers?

I'm not surprised to see the N/A V6 option go away. But at the same time, I do really wish they'd put the 3.5 EB in there (maybe the beefed up version from the new Raptor). But in the lower power form, it would remove every reason except the noise to get the V8 and in the higher power form, it would make the V8 just downright look bad.

They're perfect. By being big and not right next to the headlights, they might actually be visible from the front at night... (unlike a lot of newer cars).

Crazy value - $30,000 for ecoboost, performance pack, and recaros.

You're at $34,000 before you even sneeze at a 230i and this blows that out of the water.

I love seeing the responses here vs. other avenues of the internet.

This is basically much ado about nothing. Fairly mild restyling, and bringing the nose down shorter is an improvement in my opinion. The tail changes are similarly minor, and look great to me.

Checking in on some sights you'd think they revised the nose to include a giant middle finger and audio projector which hurls targeted insults at everyone's mothers.

Cosmetically I approve, but who cares? I'm interested in the new magnetic suspension. Has GRM done an article on those? Will suspension tuning in the future be done with laptops?

The real meat and potatoes is the Magnetic Ride option. Imagine if it's a (notoriously inexpensive) track-package addition

I remember the 2015's eliciting the same response...Presumably from mostly the same people.

Not a huge fan of the nose, but then again, I'm not buying one (or any of it's competitors, or any new cars in general) so I guess it doesn't matter. The 2010-2012 pre-catfish lips design will always be my favorite modern Mustang (The '69 is clearly the best of all time) although the '10s were sadly still 4.6L 3V

This... exactly. The current car has always seemed poorly proportioned to me... the front was too big for the rear. The lower front end lines of the GT350 and this refresh look much better.

I'm looking forward to seeing one in person.
