So here we are. You could be the coolest guy on your block. Currently, a glasses wearing, button up shirt, mechanical pencil loving nobody. Let me change all that.
In continuation of the material goods purge required for this trip to Australia. Up for grabs? My INfamous yellowy brown Rotary wagon: Lemonade.
It's what I've been creating for the past three years with the lemons I've been dealt. A big tall glass of soury yummy fun, this wagon could be yours for the low price of $5. That's it, $5 a ticket.
Drawing is on the 23rd of January this month.
How's this for a first day of 2013?
How to enter:
-Locals: Cash at work is fine! Or you can swing by the house and say hello.
-Out of towners: Email me DiscoQuinn@gmail.com I will be doing EMT! (Sorry no PayPal)
Why am I raffling my car? Well, I'm about to move to another country with no money in my pocket to race a ghost on a mountain. Everyone has already said it cant be done. "The track has changed since 1979" "It's a public street the only close it down twice a year for a race." "building a car faster than his is too big of a feat." ETC ETC ETC. I've heard it all, and I'm still going for it.

Nope but maybe it belongs in the Classifieds section.
It looks as if this Corolla is suffering from a major case of oversteer. I would suggest looking at the rear toe, maybe some rebound settings or spring rates. This will calm the rear end down.
Now that I think about it, you can soften the rear bar a bit, may stiffin' the front bar.
I smell scam, more than canoe. Give this guy five bucks for a chance to win an oldass car, just so he can leave the country? Sure.
Hmmmm.......
Seems to me he's reach a much larger audience for his raffle if he placed advertising in GRM, or here on our website. A forum thread is so fleeting....

Beth told me that you can ante-up $5 just to be sure.
gmail account. Thats promising.
Thanks for the PM Joe. By the time it went to print It would be too late. :)
If it bothers anyone you can pull down the post.
The back story is, I teach racing locally, and work in an autoparts store. I'm nearly 30 years of age and soon can't qualify for a working holiday visa. So now's the time to go.
My race car is famous locally for doing a whole lot with so little, and I realized no one is going to be willing to buy the thing out right, so I decided to raffle it off.
I'm going down to Australia for one year in hopes to build a race car and beat Brocks lap time from 1979. It's completely illogical as the track has changed since 79, and it's a public road most of the year. However, I've set my mind to it, and will dedicate this next year to trying no matter how backwards the approach. Carpe diem and such.
I will have no money once I'm down there, and to be honest I will probably continue to make minimum wage like I do here. The moral of the story, is go to school. Most likely I will die in a fire, but if I succeed...well who knows.
Quinn Howling on Facebook. I live at 887 Darwin Ave Victoria BC. I'm 5'11, 180lbs Caucasian with size 10.5 feet. I like subway 6" egg salad sandwiches and have been practicing using the "C" word in casual conversation in hopes to blend in when I land.
instead of raffle why not ebay, no reserve?

This isn't a scam guys, it's the real deal.
I'm sure it's real, I was just trying to help the guy with the severe case of oversteer.

That's what I thought too, and then I read the 'drift' part, I like the starting point...
In reply to Raze:
Yep. Though when I read "Race Car" and see the back end stepped out on a "race car", it makes me believe there are handling issues that need to be resolved.
Now, a "drift car" is not a race car. There is no "racing" in "drifting". Yes, both involve a car, cage, and some talent.
It is like saying the 100 meter butterfly and the highdive are the same. Both involve water, but very different. Diving is scored on style, swimming is a race (you get the jest of it).
Should I know what EMT is?
The 'fine print' doesn't give much detail.
(That being said, this car is essentially local to me, just across the border to Canuckistan)
Electronic money transfer.
Or maybe it's email money transfer.
Yes, sorry. In Canada banks offer Email Money transfers through their regular online banking. The handiest thing for buying and selling parts. Etc
Not so easy in the US. You guys continue to support the devil called Paypal. lol
Hyperwallet is a service that works between US and Canadian banks.
Thanks for not closing my thread guys! as for the whole race car/drift car thing. It goes fast on a race track and is fun and intuitive to drive. I've been teaching road racing and drifting for 6 years now, and the car is setup with a strong bias of understeer to make the oversteer more predictable. :) If you don't understand how that works, it's time to do a bit more research on how drift cars work!
Now over 100 tickets sold! Cooking along! Some updates to more prizes for the raffle as well. :)
