I just now found an 02 RSX online. The miles versus price looked decent.  Then I checked CarComplaints.Com. There were numerous complaints about the manual transmission grinding, popping out of gear, and needing to be replaced at mileages in the 5 digits. I know Grassroots Motorsports did a buyer's guide on the RSX, but it will take a bit of digging for me to get it out of storage.  Is the base RSX more/less susceptible than the Type S to a transmission "meltdown"?

Any ideas on cost to replace? Any year of RSX better or worse for this problem?

From what my Honda friends used to say, any K-series manual transmission are highly prone to grinding and such. I know one of them took one apart to try and replace them himself and there was something strange about the inside of them

I know they are entirely different kinds of vehicles but the Honda CR-V with a manual transmission does not seem to suffer from the various transmission gripes that the RSX suffers from.
