Since you are asking questions (survey) maybe this is a good place to put this. I have brought this up on surveys of the past but i'm not sure if it is noticed.
I have a hard time explaining The Challenge to outsiders. The simple answer is that it is a drag/autox/concourse with one underlying rule; you cant spend more that $2k on the completed vehicle.
When I tell people this I know that what they envision is cars that look akin to demo derby cars before the derby begins or roundy race cars after the race.
Samples of what I think they expect:
The reality is that unless I happen to have an actual copy of the magazine with me I can not easily show them what really arrives:
(notice that these pictures are not all from the same year and to find these pictures required some googling.)
So as stated so far:
1) Not a easy to describe "the essence" of the event.
2) No concise place for photos of the event.
3) Easier to explain with the written page
So, every year, the printed magazine captures the best photos and the best words of the event and prints them.
I'll bet the 2003 event was awesome but since I don't have that edition in print, I really don't know.
You have done a good job of building a new website for The Challenge but a glaring omission on that website is that the written article for every one of the past 16 years is not included.
We are just left to expect that 2003 was probably really cool.
There was recently a thread on the forum about makes/models that has never competed in the Challenge. This long multi page thread then resulting in a "crowd sourcing" of all the makes/models in every year.
What this thread did not complete was giving us the "winners" of every year.
In summary, I ask that on the new Challenge Website you provide a link to all the written articles of the past 16 years.
I think having this would be very good for recruiting new people to compete in The Challenge.
As I was never cooking, I am not done. However, regarding the Poll, I am finished
All horsey colored am I.
Glad this one was substantially shorter.

The link doesn't take me to a survey
Where does it take you?
Figured it out, my work blocked Survey Monkey content for some reason. The page was empty. Maybe I should get back to work.

I've mentioned it before, but one thing I'd like to see is expanded content that doesn't fit into the print magazine. Additional project and feature car photos. Expanded stats from events like the Challenge and UTCC.

Just report the problem to IT.
Done.
No homemaker for profession? There's dozens of us!
And five being the max answer for number of cars? Is ANYONE here answering less than that?
Survey complete.
Since my British cars are gone, I no longer have to round up for the number I own. Or would that have been rounding down...

I always figured 5 was the minimum.
Going to have to do it from a real PC. It is completely un usable on my windows based phone. The various things on that page are not scaling properly and when I went to go to the next page it would un check the last question instead. I could not get to the second page.

We'll make sure to drop the subtle hints of Kia enthusiasm among our readers when we're pitching the Citation Business Jet people. Thanks.

Are you asking us to take the pole?
Based on the posts in this thread, nobody's taking it but lots of folks are busy dancing around it...with this crowd that isn't something I'm wanting to see on video!
And, don't worry, we're not going to stop writing about certain cars based on this survey. We just want to take a look at any big trends.
Thanks to those who have taken the few seconds to answer it. The info definitely helps.
And, John, I hear you regarding the Challenge page. Let me see what we can do.
Craigslist is a automotive website isn't it?

I thought it meant running cars.
Maybe we need stories on how to be Challenge level Cheapskates.

I'm more of a Gulfstream fan myself.

I had to click five or more and then individually click on seven different brands. I felt like a normal company would have thrown out the result as BS, but here I'm not even the weird one.
I wrote in craigslust as an automotive site too, and I almost listed my age as Group 44.
Filled in, noticed you forgot to list Land Rover as a vehicle .

An archive of all past entrants was actually on our mind when we created a standalone site for the Challenge. The only barrier is the extremely time-consuming manner of that project. We'll work on it, though. Great suggestion.
Completed, but data compilers please note: I completely blanked out and forgot to include autos.ca and driving.ca as info sources. Apart from giving me locally-relevant data (option packages and even whole cars vary up here, as you know), that's where Lesley writes.
