My latest subtle "idea planting" was to my 20 year old tech, who owns a 93 Chev pickup.
I pointed out that two of the 5 cylinder Volvo turbochargers that are pretty easy to find around my shop would probably work quite nicely on his 5.7 liter V8. Then I walked away and watched the gears grinding behind his eyes.

I have two spare S60R turbochargers. One works perfectly on a 2.4l five cylinder, which means two should be fine on a 4.8l V8, right?
Then I remember that I learned on Thursday from one of the people who still works where I used to work, that the twin turbo Trans Am that I had the engine out twice for repairs needs to have the engine come back out again because it has so much blowby that it blew the front main seal out. (But the Internet says LSs are awesome and take great to turbocharging )
I enjoy lying to my kids.
Today I told one of them that the game Whack-a-Mole was based on a true story.
I just bombard my friends with "deals" from Marketplace and Craigslist on projects.
Misery loves company, am I right?!

I told my college aged daughter if she doesn't file her taxes the IRS can come back with fines, penalties and interest charges.
She made $7200 last year and in reality they'll just keep the $253 she paid to federal taxes.
Ive been known to kick the hornets nest a few times.
