I don't blame him. I'd go crazy driving an appliance like a Blazer.

In his defense, he eeked every bit of life he could out of that Blazer. It has nearly 1/4 million miles on it and it's criss-crossed the country multiple times, and been reasonably dependable considering he's not really automotively inclined. He just got an estimate from a mechanic for about $1,000 worth of stuff that were pretty urgent needs (like, it leaks oil so badly it's nearly undrivable) and with the typical GM crap (power accessories, AC, etc) all starting to go its time was up. If it were at least a 4x4 version it might have been worth keeping for desert play out where he lives, but it's 2WD.
I didn't mean anything bad about it. At least he knew when to pull the plug on it more than anything.
