not when Toyo comes out with the R2R

That's true, I kinda neglected that. They'll probably not even change the tire, just the mold and run a fake treadwear test to get their certification.

Double Wishbone and Weight:Tire ratio IMO.

The Neon, SE-R, Saturn, Protege, Escort GT, and even Corolla are all very light and make more power/tq than the ST Civic, but aren't super-light, and all have struts.

A well prepped EF weights just under 2000#. There are some lighter cars, but none have wishbones and the ability to put the power down (or dont have the outright power of) as well as an EF. The heavier cars, even with much more power, are hampered by poorer tire-to-weight ratios...and in this class I firmly believe that cannot be overcome.

I ran STC last year in my 86 GTi. The Civics had me by 10 seconds or more... Maybe with some extra work to my car I can knock that down to 7 seconds... Lol

This is an exercise in futility. I tried with a 94 Swift GT. Lighter (1790lbs), similar power (98 to the front wheels), same size tires (195/50/15 R1R's) with Koni's and coilover kits and a 19mm rear bar. Couldn't get close.

In reply to Bobzilla:

We shall also note that in our region, the focus, gti, swift, and probably every other eligible honda have been tried.......to no avail.

We got a ZX2 within a fat 2 seconds on a few occasions on a 60ish second course of top-5 National cars (Frank, Washburn et al). Usually 3 seconds plus. In our game, that is still a lot of time. The only consolation is that there are a lot of EFs that don't get within 2-3 seconds of those guys either. Gave up--now in FSP (hope to be finished with build in July some time).

How much power are the Civics putting down?

I was 4+ at a Tour with Frank/et al with the Swift. I was 5 in the old Elantra. I switched gears to STF with the Forte which looks to be very promising. If I could only learn to drive.

Mine puts down a dyno verified 112hp to the wheels. That's in stock class configuration, meaning it had a K&N filter element in the stock box with a very free flowing but complete exhaust, redline oil (worth 4hp!!) and blue printed injectors. No header or cold air intake.
