I very briefly considered running Midlana at the event but changed my mind after seeing the type of cars there. In the class I'd run in, many appeared to be one-off "cars" prepared by shops looking to make a new for themselves - fair enough, mine's no different. What was different was that they had crews, spare engines, and new tires for each session, likely with budgets well into six figures. Too rich for me.

I saw the Viper name-dropped here at least twice, and while I know it's not a serious contendor for being chosen, let me just say: don't do it.

The earlier gens are suffering from an acute lack of parts, which makes fixing things that are broken a stressful ordeal. Plus, the fronts are all fiberglass and are gonna run you at least $10k+ if you mess it up.

The 'Vette on the other hand has a lot of stock parts you can get ahold of easily and for cheap.
