Agreed. Even my 325es sounds good, and it is the opposite of high performance. I love the way they sound even with stock exhausts.

My Honda Odyssey sounds surprisingly good. Has that fun induction noise thing Honda is good at, especially when VTEC switches cam profiles.
I had a co-worker with a Mazda MX-3 and I got to drive it once and couldn't believe how awesome it sounded. Turns out it had a tiny 1.8 litre V6 that really howled when you gave it the beans. Here's a video Mazda MX-3 Exhaust sound
My neighbor has a Dodge Journey with ricey exhaust tips. I was blown away how good it sounded. I expected raspy farts and was totally wrong.
Any of the Toyota XUZ-xx V8s sound good.
I enjoy how the Honda J series V6s sound uncorked on the intake or exhaust side in most of the pedestrian vehicles.
The 5.0 in the more recent F-150s sounds great.
The V8s in all of the GMTs can sound good.
The Hemis in all of the Ram trucks can sound good.
So yea VQs can sound good; but, too many people make them sound bad.
Maybe doesn't qualify as "car" but the UPS trucks sound pretty good when the driver's flogging it as they pull out of our private road onto th highway.
Sounds just like my wife's Tahoe.
Definitely "non-performance" though!
The hemi rams after about 2012 have a nice sound. Even the earlier ones with a nice muffler sound good. My 06 pulling a trailer, especially passing someone sounds brilliant
