anybody seen one ? all over the TV

One came through our used car/accesories shop. It's not pretty in person. About as FUGLY as the juke, imo.
Nearest I can tell it's a new Toyota version of a 9 year old Nissan, but without a manual transmission, no AWD, slower and more ugly. Haven't driven it though.
FWIW, I hate the new Honda hrv (market competitor) too. I've spent time in that. It's slow, and uncomfortable.
Hyundia (or is it Kia) is entering this market too. They have managed to take the ugly to a astonishing level.
IMHO the CHR is way more appealing to me than the steaming pile of E36M3 juke....strictly from an exterior perspective. Beyond that I'm sure the propulsion unit is far from eye opening, but a lot of youngin's will eat this with a spoon.....
I think that it looks great in profile, but that face..... Whoever is doing Toyotas front ends has watched too many episodes of Transformers.
Hooray! Another ugly, slow, 4 door mini-utility that you can't see out of! (or want to be seen in)
However this thread did get me to got to their website for a minute and poke around. Not much of interest beyond the 86 and maybe Tacoma if they would make a standard cab version. (wait a second, I can only get a manual trans if I buy 4 wheel drive? WTF?) The Concept FT-4X could be interesting if you want a car that looks like a NASA moon rover of some sort. It least it's not another blob on wheels....
Useless in what way? It looks way more useful than the average sedan. It's a small hatchback with a sloping rear hatch. Not bad.
I find it funny that it's a crv/hrv competitor and they just combined the two names. Kind of like their smart car knockoff being an iq.
Wow, those things do look hideous and useless. Sits too high, roof too low, not enough room in back, and positively drenched in ugly sauce. Give me a 10-year-old Impreza wagon if I want something in this market segment.
Saw one in person parked next to a juke ironically a few weeks ago and tbh the juke was less vomit inducing, not by much but it just shows toyota is just trying to get in to another market share as opposed to bringing back something great like the matrix.
The Juke has Aztec levels of ugly.......but I kind of like them. They are eager to please and much more entertaining to drive than most little runabouts. They are sort of like an ugly little dog that you can't help but love.
Besides the GTR and 370Z, they may be the most fun to drive thing in Nissan's lineup. Wow......that's kinda sad.
I could see picking one up in a few years for Rally-Cross fun.

We have some at work as test vehicles and I've thought that it could make a great rally-x vehicle over many bored overnight's there....
I like this review's title: CH-R: Simply the Averagest

Wow, that article describes exactly how I felt about the iM. And looking at those pictures, that thing is even fuglier than the current crop of Nissans.
As an aside, I had a Juke as a rental car last month and was pleasantly surprised. I think Versas are about the worst new car available, and in general I don't like the Nissans I've driven, the Juke was not too bad for a rental. You cannot see the outside while driving other than the bulging headligts, that actually give a good visual reference of where the front of the car is. My only real complaint about it is that the hood needs some re-enforcement so it does not bounce like a trampoline with every little bump in the road.
I had to google to see what a C-HR was.
Like the Juke, I think this car looks OK, and I actually appreciate the attempt at unique styling. I have no interest in crossovers though.
My wife and I were watching TV the other night when a commercial for the model came on. Without any qualifying information and a sense of determination she said, "No, just....no."
I don't think I hated it as much as she did, but I'm not sure I've ever heard her try to disallow the existence of something.
They needed something to sell to the Scion xB owners when they wear out their cars. Wasn't the average age of a purchaser in their 60s?
Saw one in a driveway in my neighborhood this morning. Saw the Toyota badged fugly and wondered what it was. I think the owner may have traded a Prius for it.
I went on C&D to read their comparison of subcompact crossovers, and two things stood out to me. First - the Honda and Toyota offerings were 5 and 8th respectively out of a field of 8. How far the mighty have fallen. In the words of our illustrious leader - SAD. The second thing is that the highest ranked model was.... The Kia Soul. Wow, the Koreans have become something to be reckoned with.
Why would once pick such a thing over, say, a Honda Fit? Or a civic? Or a year's worth of chimichangas?
I saw one of these parked along the beach a couple weeks ago & had no idea what it was. Of course, by the time I got home I couldn't remember what 3-letters were on the back, so it took a while for me to figure it out. Since SWMBO is interested in a CUV for her next vehicle I pulled up the specs on the CHR and was rather disappointed to find out just how mediocre it is.
At least the grill doesn't look like it's trying to swallow krill...
