Perhaps you're thinking of Face's Corvette from the A-Team?

As an ex Cimarron owner and lover of badge-engineered 80's cars, I kind of wish Cadillac had had a version of the c4 in the 80s. It may have been a raging pile of brand mismanagement but i would probably think they were cool in 2014.

My 88 c4 put down 256hp/305tq on the dyno yesterday. This is with miniram intake, mild cam, tune, long tubes, 30lb injectors and a couple of other tweaks. I think there is more in it because the a/f went all crazy on the 2nd and 3rd pulls. I need to troubleshoot that then take it back. The car runs great otherwise.

My buddies zl1 put down 710/654!!!!!!!

You know, I never remembered seeing Face's Corvette in the show. And I watched it religiously.

I enjoyed mine for many years. '88 w/4+3. Did lots of autocrossing and the Silver State Classic.

Same here. I remember him having a Fiero which seemed very exotic over in England in the 80's

Face only had the 'Vette in the last 2 seasons and it was rarely seen. GM product placement. GMC was noted in the credits for suppling the van and Amy drove an new Olds Firenza in one episode.

Nice! I remember shooting for 275/300 tq. BTW, what RPMS does she turn now? Where was the power? Can I see the dyno chart? I'm DYIN' HERE!

I'll post up the chart tomorrow. On the 2nd run I ran it up to almost 5300 rpm, but there was no need. It was all in by 4800 or so. Car sounded real good, but like I said the A/Fs got a little funny on the 2nd at 3rd pulls, which were both higher RPM because I shut it down early on the 1st pull. Probably something simple, so I'll track the issue down, then head back early spring.

Huh... I was hoping the intake and cam would push the powerband up a little higher than that. still, considering that the car made ~200hp/260tq at the rear wheels way back when, that's not too bad.

oh it's a blast to drive....lots of torque. I don't mind that it's not a real high revver....when you drive it you just don't feel the need because it starts pulling hard early.

Yeah... torque now, torque later, torque here, torque there..... ALL the torque ALL the time. Between the ridiculous torque curve and the long gears... it always felt like it was in the powerband.

Depends on how picky you are.

The earlier Corvettes were loud and truck like. The later ones were less truck like but still not nearly up to other imports in terms of handling.

Frankly, they finally got it right for the C7, and it is worth saving up to get that model. If you are going to own one, it might as well be the best.

uH... WUT? I don't know what you've been smoking but you should probably pass that around a little more. The C5's were top of the heap in 1997. The C6's in 2004 as well. What "imports" did the C5 have to content with? The NSX? More expensive, slower. The Supra? not exactly a handler at that point. 911? Tight race depending on track. C5 had the obvious power and braking advantage.

Not saying hte C7 isn't amazeballs, but to ignore 2 generations of amazing handling cars is silly.

Hell, even the C4 was an amazing handling car compared to the competition when it came out.
