There can be only one!!
Hope my comment wasn't taken as inflammatory. I just wanted to point out that we're on the same side and hopefully if we're picking nits it's so we can get our stories straight and be a united front to the people who think anyone having fun in their car is a threat to public safety. I don't begrudge someone a moment's illegality if i think they are being truly concientious about their 'enthusiast driving'. Of course it's hard to get real context from a glamour shot, but it sounds like Joey was trying to do the best thing in the moment. I know Cooter would generally come into any post about having fun in a full size van with real enthusiasm and we all have that in common too. So at the end of the day this thread contains multiple people who like full size vans, like having fun behind the wheel, and like to be safe doing it. Compared to most internet threads that is 100% win.
I find that as I age, I tend to make less sense the more I write.
Unfortunately, my newfound "solution" of brevity many times ends up appearing too blunt. The situation as told makes perfect sense to me, as I know what a distraction (and oftentimes an impedance) professional roadside photographers can be. In the same situation in my DogeVan, who knows what part of the road I may have ended up on with a heavy rake and big and littles.
It's still a great photo. And a darn good looking van.

I wholeheartedly support this idea!!! Let’s organize it!
really making me think about taking the back seat out of my disco and putting in a sleeping platform
Yep vans with high rate suspension for hauling heavy cargo, they handle surprisingly well when they are not full of heavy cargo. Ride like crap empty, but handle well.

If discos count then wagons should too...
A subie wagon and sleeping in the back of it turned us on to the concept of building a campervan in the first place!
