I don't have anything to add, but I've seen those giant vending machines on their commercials and I want to get a car out of one.
Gotta be better than gas station sushi.
Ive eaten some really good gas station sushi.
Ive also eaten some really BAD gas station sushi.
The fact that you have eaten gas station sushi at least twice makes me question every decision you have ever made.

I bought a Nissan Leaf last year from Carvana, it was totally non-eventful.
I would do it again.
This reply is relevant to my interests.
This is a smoking clue as to what JG is getting...

Where's your sense of adventure? I just had lunch the other day at a place that previously gave me salmonella poisoning on two separate occasions. I did get yet another earful from the wife about it, but the food tastes good and the shop is within a convenient proximity.
The hot thing to do when I lived in the High Desert was to buy Christmas Tamales out of a trunk in a Winco parking lot. So I probably don't have the best decision making skills when it comes to food.
Interested to see how the thread turns out.
In reply to The0retical :
Best Tamales I've ever had are from an old Mexican guy that walks around the office/industrial area I work in Scotts Valley with a big shoulder bag of typically three or four varieties. They're still hot and I have no idea how he does that 'cuz he's walking around and the bag is just a canvas. I'm a bit of a Tamale snob so I don't say they're the best lightly. Haven't good food poisoning yet...
Speaking of getting sick twice from the same place, I got the WORST case of the E36 M3s and vomits from the same sushi from the same restaurant. Twice in 3 months. After the second time, I went back there and told them they needed to review their food handling procedures. Haven't been back even if the Sake (salmon) sushi was to die for. Literally, apparently.

Salmonella is for Bob Costas.
I got e-coli from a meatball sandwich on the day before Thanksgiving one year. It took me out for the holiday and for the following three weeks, including a trip to the hospital. I'd take salmonella once a week vs. dealing with e-coli again. I no longer roll the dice with my digestive system.
It was second only to mononucleosis as an incredibly effective way to lose weight though.

It means she has a $5,000,000 policy you don't know about, man.

I think they're fine unless you finance with them; their rates are usurious as they are owned by Drivetime.
I sold a car to Vroom instead of Carvana as they offered me more, and the process was super shady. They paid, however!
I actually ended up financing with them as their rate was within half a point of what I'm paying now, and i figure I can always refi with my regular bank when I'm 100% satisfied with the car. I have really good credit, though. From what I've seen their rates for anything outside of flawless credit are fairly harsh. Luckily I fall outside that range. It's expensive to be poor I guess.
You are the unicorn of unicorns: a journalist - heck, a car journalist - with perfect credit! Nice work!
Ok JG is 2324 on Sunday evening. What's the hot take my man?

Poor credit does not always equal financially poor. People do not build credit when they are young, or have a life event such as a divorce or medical issue that hurts their credit, recent immigrants often do not have a credit history from their home country...there are many reasons to have poor credit. It doesn't change the fact that if you can't prove creditworthiness you can't get credit, it just doesn't automatically mean you are poor.

Totally not bagging on the credit challenged. Sorry if it came off that way. I've been there myself. To be honest, the whole thing just seems like a racket. Here's this somewhat arbitrary number that defines your economic viability, but you'll have a hard time improving it if it isn't already good, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oh and thanks for ripping that from my FB so I didn't have to redo it here. I meant to do it this morning but got caught up in meetings.
So, yeah, so far so good. I'm impressed. I hope they can make it a viable business model for the long term.
I'll be talking with one of their media relations people this week. If anyone has any questions they'd like me to relay, post them up here.

My 6 days in the hospital, and losing 23 lbs in that same period of time at the young, resilient, and otherwise healthy, age of 20, from a Salmonella & Shigella double whammy would have you re-think your Bob Costas speculation.
That Mexican restaurant was closed for 3 months after my diagnosis, wish it was for good, and I've never eaten there since.
