Ah, small aircraft, the rich man's only natural predator cheeky

I avoid small aircraft like the plague. They seem like their main purpose is to get you off the ground high enough to kill you.

To be honest, I am shocked that Ken Block didn't die in a helicopter crash.  That seems to be the norm.

I knew a retired Air Force colonel who had flown B-1 Lancers and had ejected from a fighter jet once. He refused to get onboard of helicopters, said they flew on Pure Berkeleyin' Magic and he didn't trust them.

There are a lot of fixed wing guys that hate rotary airframes. I don't mind helos, I do hate the CV-22 with a passion for a plethora of reasons.

Tbh, the Original post whining about the lack of safety and whatever sounds just like that.  A whiney post.  There are plenty of unsanctioned motorsports all over the world.  God forbid he's trying to grow his brand and make some money off it.  The participants know what they are getting into.  Hating on him is just stupid.

I have tickets for Friday and can't wait to see Cleetus take the series safely into 2023.

People brought up legitimate safety concerns and he listened and addressed those concerns. I doubt the OP will be back to acknowledge that.

Sucking up to him because he is famous on YouTube is equally stupid.  Reality lies somewhere in the middle.  Sadly the middle of any bell curve is now super pointy and small these days.

you still sound really butthurt over him.  Assuming I'm "sucking up" shows how little ability you have to have a rational discussion.  Your biased is overwhelming.  Any person who buys and saves a race track is fine with me.  Even if I don't watch his channel.  Tbh the last time I watched anything was when Justin Peachey defeated him at his own race.

That's an interesting take on things.  The butthurt I see is everyone loving on him for doing some good when his primary purpose is enriching his self.  Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but that's how I see it.  So he did one really good thing.  That's awesome.  Does it override throwing safety out the window on some of his previous events?  Honestly, I think that oversight just turned out lucky.

If you read that take as "butthurt" ed, I'd say your logic and argumentation skills are lacking.  So do you have a point or are ya hunting for thumbs up by calling me names?  You wouldn't be the first or the last.  I have a clear track record of forming my own thoughts for myself.  Disagree if you like, but as soon as you resort to name calling we all know who is really butthurt.

Newest video also shows they redesigned the seat mounts, made out of 1/4" plate, and they put actual window net setups in it that aren't screwed to the door.

I have a feeling that Tom Clancy feels the same way.  I have only read one of his books, but Jack Ryan was in a helicopter crash while training to be an officer in the Marines, which got him a medical discharge and a new career as a spy (er, writer).  And he got onto the Red October after the helicopter carrying the original team suffered a transmission failure, which kept the rotor from windmillling, and the craft went into the ocean, killing almost everyone aboard.

The movie has only a glancing resemblance to the book...

There's also a near helicopter crash in Clear And Present Danger. While exfiltrating the troops out of Colombia, it has an engine failure while trying to land on a Coast Guard cutter. They set it down, but it's a hard lamding

Remember, aviation isn't inherently dangerous, but even more so than the sea, it it terribly unforgiving of carelessness and neglect.

Bad, risky pilots are a self correcting problem.

Glad they made the cars more safe & less janky.  Go to your local dirt track (if you have one) and look at the FWD econo cars they campaign regularly on a Saturday night.  There's a big difference is how much money is being made off the race.

I saw a clip on youtube of the county council that approved the rezoning effort Cleetus was trying to block.  Every council member stated something to the extent that they "needed to develop some new code/regulations to make sure Freedom Factory would be protected in the future."   Not to be a buzzkill, but I've seen this movie before.  If they didn't enact the zoning changes already, don't hold your breath.

I'm surprised this hasn't bumped yet.  9 ranger rollovers. Nobody hurt, thankfully. He recognizes the physics of Rangers at Bristol speeds is a bad idea.  The one and only Danger Ranger 9000 on dirt at Bristol was a blast!  Lemons legend, Speedycop, built a ranger 48 hrs before the race, lead most of it, and finished 3rd!

It took me a second to realize that it was not a stadium super truck race in that pic and that ranger probably shouldn't have been THAT airborne. Or at all.

That's a fascinating picture. Is the truck on it's side actually twisted as much as it looks, or is that an optical illusion? If it actually twisted, did it spring back or stay pretzel'd?
