The built in GPS on my phone seems to be OK with HLT on the track, but it doesn't have the resolution to be useful for Auto-X so I'm considering the purchase of either the Dual XGPS 150 (5Hz) or 160 (10Hz). Apart from "more data is always better", does anybody have any experience with either?

The 150 is about 1/2 price of the 160.

What would the hive recommend?

I use the Quartz BT Q818XT 10Hz model. Easy to use and resolution is worth the 10Hz. I use Racechrono on my android tablet in the glove box of the car. (Its free)

I have the 150. The GPS works fine (with Harry's Lap Timer). Harry's Lap timer on the other hand was quite annoying for me :( Haven't used it in a few years though, things may be different now.

I have used the 150 for two seasons of HPDE now and it's plenty for that.

Sorry I can't speak to using it for autocross. I've only been to one autocross school, so I probably don't want to know the details of my sad little course times.

I have a Q-Starz 10hz. I could never get it to work with HLT - nothing but frustration. I bit the bullet, went to SoloStorm and it just worked right out of the gate...no fuss, no configuration, tech moron's seal of approval.

Pro tip: don't let the Q-Starz puck get wet.
