Jr wins, mullets everywhere rejoice!!!!
I have to say it took me about 30 seconds on the Nascar website to remember why I stopped watching Nascar.

they still run nascar? i thought it ended years ago. they still run the same exact cars as each other?

The hand of Dale Sr. swept down from heaven and taped the grill of Jr's 88 w/ three laps to go. Troof.
Denny Hamlin ran the last 150 laps with no radio, and finished second. That, my friends, was a good, hard days work.
My 6 year old daughter likes to play with stickers. So does Nascar. Slap different stickers on the same car. Yawn...
Some day, someone is going to start a new nascar type series, using cars from the 50s, 60s and 70's in three separate races, ie the 1950's cars all run together, the 1960's cars all run together, and u guessed it, all the 1970's cars all run together. The only changes allowed will be for some basic safety improvements. Bet it would be a lot more popular than the silly cars they run today.
I'm not much of a Junior fan, but seeing as his front tire changer got his start on my pit crew, I am happy to see the 88 team win.
Other than that, Harvick and Dillon would be hard pressed to conform to any series that actually enforces driving standards.

It amazes me how many people will click on a thread just to come in and post how they don't like the topic.
I'm happy for Jr. I'm even happier that it wasn't Johnson.

Troof. I can't lie...I fell asleep before the race ended, but I tried to watch as much as I could. Not a Jr fan, but good for him.
I'm glad they stuck through the rain delays and ran through all 200 laps. Danica took a hard hit and when they interviewed her it was like she didn't want to admit she was shaken up. Dale looked incredibly & genuinely happy with his win - as he should, breaking a long streak without one. I hope NASCAR doesn't fine him for un-buckling his safety gear while doing his victory lap.
The new graphic at the top of the screen with the running order is terrible. They should go back to the old one.
That's all I got.
I'm a Hamlin fan and am mixed on his reaction after the race. I thought it was a great finish considering he lacked radio communications, but he was genuinely disappointed. Now I'm glad he was pissed that he didn't win, but really, he did a great job without the help of a spotter. Those cars are tough to see out of...
I don't mind NASCAR, there wasn't anything else on and its race cars. It might not be exciting as other series but just accept it for what it is, a simple format that's well marketed and simple for people to understand. And as long as Kyle Busch didn't win I'm fine.
I started watching it with 45 laps to go and after several cautions, I wasn't able to finish the race. I know that it would go against what they stand for( Or would it "Sprint Series"), but I think less laps, would make it more exciting.

I actually prefer the new one. Its easier to read than scrolling words.

Kyle Busch is a dick, just like his brother. He is a superfast, very talented dick, though. He showed up at a midwest tour Superlate race at the Milwaukee Mile we ran, and he was faster than everybody else, everywhere on the race track, all day long. There were Kenseths and Wallaces and Nemecheks and all sorts of fast regular tour guys, and us. He was faster.

But then they wouldn't have their "We went 1/5th as far as that last Daytona race which shall not be named" thing....
I missed watching Nascar, for all we bitch about left, left left, hey look left again! Going into and out of the pits are more left and a little less left, they have some entertaining races.
It's just the fans, my Gawd how inbreed can you be before the sperm dies?!?!?!?!
EDIT: Before some trolls the previous comment, please note the fans have alot to do with a sport. I became a Saints football fan because of the fans. What a bunch of fun loving stick with your team, do or die people. Makes a sport so much more.
For all the talking Brian France does about making the sport more exciting, they should go ahead and award points for anyone who can hit their pitbox backwards a la Matt Kenseth. I'd like to see more drivers try that move. Under no circumstances would I want to be strapped in at a restrictor plate track with no radio. Methinks Denny would have won easily with some verbal help from above. Outstanding effort to finish 2nd on his part. Oh yeah, last place paid out $292,311. Wonder how many years I'll have to work to earn that much cash. And YES, the official Nascar website blows in my opinion. I get all my info from http://www.jayski.com/
I thought it was more entertaining than a typical Daytona 500. Gladly the "two by two" racing is gone, and they can at least mix it up a bit. They are still very dependent on the draft--- especially the side-draft these days. Like it or not, it's still pretty impressive how closely they run together, and how they use the air to their advantage.
It was also good to see Jr. win another race after a long drought. He seems like a decent enough guy--- easy enough to root for.
Big difference in Road Racing fans vs. NASCAR fans----------
Road Racing fans wear sleeves.

Fixed that for you.
Seriously, I did want to watch it last night. We started watching at the beginning of my shift, but they were playing O' Fortuna as the drivers were walking on that stupid runway. Why were they playing classical music? Classical music! It's friggin' NASCAR. They were playing classical music.
We switched the channel to basketball or something right there. I remembered I wanted to watch the race... like 10 hours later. Sadly, it was over.
I like the roundie-rounds and I have a lot of respect for someone who wants to strap on 800 horsepower and ride it down a huge straightaway into another turn, 3 inches away from 4 different cars. My preference is road racing, but that's hard to watch anymore now that the SPEED channel is Fox Sports 1 (yay... more NFL).
At one point as the pack, three abreast, came through a turn at an ungodly speed and no one touched. I was impressed. I think Dillon was at the rear then.
