I just picked up a lightly prepped Spec944 to use for HPDE and maybe eventual wheel to wheel (probably in one of the STx classes rather than keeping it a Spec944, though). Currently the interior rear view mirror is one of the giant "2/3 the width of the brow bar of the cage" ones, and as much as I'm likely going to have to be in my mirrors, I want to make sure I've got the best visibility possible. I'm really intrigued by rear view cameras, and they are starting to trickle down to the amateur/club racing level, and I've seen a few folks DIYing their own setups. Anyone on here have any experience with something like this?

I bought this one for the LMP360 which has no rear window.
I have not used it in anger yet. Why I bought this one is the front camera is detachable and remote. With Gridlife and other orgs requiring a windshield banner the attached cameras are useless. You don't "need" a front camera but I figured if the device was already recording I might as well use that camera to record driver inputs or forward view at all times.
I have plugged it all in and been pleased with the quality of video and displayed image. All of the fabrication seems decent (sharp molding corners on injection molding parts, tight fitting parts) making me think at least the company building it cares somewhat.
I will probably install it on the MG for the challenge to have a experience with it at the post challenge track day so I will report real world on track feedback in 2 weeks.
