I have a pair of Innovate Motorsports gauges I want to install in my Evo X. The wiring instructions look straightforward enough, but there is one snag. My Evo has keyless entry, so there is only one dimmer circuit to tap- the cigar lighter. I'd like for both gauges to dim when I turn on the headlights. Is there a good way to wire gauges both off of that circuit?

In series. Power tapped to lighter, into and out of the terminal on fist gauge, then into the terminal on the second gauge. It'll kind of look like a lower case m.

In reply to Dusterbd13:

That's an impressively simple description.

Took me a while to figure out how to explain something i do daily with no though whatsoever. So I talked out loud until I was sure my description was simple and easy.

Agree that lower case m is a good way to describe how to do it, but that is not hooking them up in series in an electrical sense. They are in parallel.

You are correct. It was late and I was tired.

Thanks for the correction.

When I talk out loud, I usually get so many different opinions that it is completely impossible to figure out what the heck they are all saying.

Thanks for the answers. Simple question, sure, but I don't want to fry my shiny new gauges. I know just enough about wiring to get me into trouble.
