A couple of early Penske racing questions.
One was the Lola T70 that won the 69 Daytona 24 hours and stolen on the way back to PA ever recovered? I know it wasn’t in the period, but what about in the last 30 years?
Two. In 1966 Penske entered a Corvette Daytona and Sebring. In the book ‘Penske Racing Team: 40 Years of Excellence’ it’s listed as having been in the 3L GT class, WTF engine was that or is it a misprint (repeated several times)?

The Corvette had a big block so that is probably a misprint.
It may have been the over 3 liter class.
This Lola?
Apparently recovered, makes some events now.
No idea on why the 3L listing, but here's a link anyway:
1966 L88 Corvette 427
Donohue talks about it in The Unfair Advantage. it was recovered about a month after being stolen, and almost everything was recovered.
Geez, that car is beautiful!

Awesome book by the way. It's certainly worth the read if anyone has the least bit of interest. Getting the Camaro to work surprised me the most at how difficult it was.
Thanks guys. It's been many year since I read the unfair advantage and must have forgotten that. Good to know on the Corvette too.
